I think its one of the best ps exclusives and one of the best open world games i've played. The progression was really satisfying.
Already posted this in another thread, but I fucking love the gunplay.
I'm on PS5 for the record, but ah I had no idea about the bugs. Hoping the game doesn't get worse as I progress.
Yes, if it wasn't for the amazing 60fps and super detailed and crisp image quality, it would be far worse of an experience.I played the entire game on PS5 and its now a great game. Really enjoyed my time with it.
If anyone now has a PS5 and never tried it like me I highly recommend it.
Yea you can tell even more that the choice mechanic was cut in some scenesReally enjoyed the game and one of my top 3 PS4 games overall.
Things I'd improve in a sequel:
Direction - cut scenes felt jarring at some times.
Dialog - some felt out of place like some last minute cuts had happened. Some dialogue also mentioned being in a place for the first time even though I'd already been there before.
Loved the story overall and the moment to moment gameplay was ace.
This was my huge issue with the game. It was the first thing we saw about the game and you aren't equipped to do it until the game is almost over. And it's a looong game.hell, the best content in the game, the hordes arent officially marked as an activity until waaay later in the game which is just... really silly.
Quite many saying this, can't wait! The game will become much better as you progress, the beginning is the weakest part.
Comes with playstation plus :)I never completed the game, but I absolutely loved playing it when I had a PS4. I'm still unsure about getting a PS5. But if I do, Days Gone will be a purchase from me.
Glad I'm not the only one. Ghosts was still awesome though.I enjoyed Day's Gone more than Ghost of Tsushima if I'm honest.
Agreed, both great!

I couldn't disagree more. Days Gone is not Dead Rising. If you wanted that level of absurdity from the very beginning, you had the wrong expectations. The skill/weapons progression is legit fantastic. This was my huge issue with the game. It was the first thing we saw about the game and you aren't equipped to do it until the game is almost over. I remember reading threads on DAYS GONE back in the day and remember all the negativity people said about it and after finishing it, I can't wrap my head around any of the perceived faults people had with it. I just don't see .
Oh that's easy...most of those people hadn't actually played it.
There are some legitimate gripes with the game, especially at launch with performance issues. But a lot of the negativity around launch came from not wanting to like a white motorcycle riding male protagonist. Was not a great mainstream character for 2019. Also, they watched a scene out of context and judged the game based solely on that.
How about that dynamic weather change. Early on in the game you have rain, which looks great but when it stops you notice it's left puddles and wet mud.
Then later when you are riding to colder regions it starts to snow. And subtly and completely seamlessly the whole world is covered in snow, the bike makes tracks in the snow, your clothes are sprinkled with snow flakes.
It's so impressive. I can't even remember any linear games doing it and this is an openworld game. Usually you have the snow areas and the non-snow areas. In Days Gone a whole region changes while you are driving though it at speed! It's literally making a snow level before your eyes.
One of the most impressive visual feats of the last generation.

Most importantly, you'd lose that element of surprise if hordes were marked and you knew where to expect them. Some of the best moments in the game is randomly stumbling into a horde when you didn't see it coming. This doesn't really make sense to me. It feels like someone complaining that a Zelda game doesn't throw you right up against Ganon in the first hour of the game.
The Hordes felt like the real bosses of the game and it keeps them mostly gated off until you are better equipped to deal with them (napalm, machine guns, remote bombs, etc.) which is basically game design 101.
I mean I guess you could just say "Well just give us all the cool toys right from the start!" but that kinda defeats the purpose of the game trying to make you feel like a scrappy survivor who has to scavenge scrap to stay alive.
