It's clearly partly fueled by self-preservation. Then the rest depends on his alignment. Helping to direct town towards a team who has a likelihood of being scum, or just trying to save scum.

    Well, me and Monkey have spoken during the night and we both are aware that we'll probably be lunched today.

    We'll be doing our damned best to help town get a pathway to scum before we're lunched.

    (that said I do not regret the Sorian lunch, he was acting scummy and wasn't helpful to town)
