There is another page of flipnote studio images that has the skyward sword pirate.
there is also one with mario on his lonesome AND one with mario (wearing cappy) with luigi.
actually, if anyone wants to bookmark this post: guarantee the june direct uses a mixture of mario and flipnote as the theme-- parts of the direct are actually going to be made using flipnote.

I compiled the images/theories in a post in the Flipnote thread, which also has other pics that hint at Skyward Sword etc. (So dampflokfreund you will be happy they mention Zelda but maybe not happy which Zelda is mentioned...)

I think they probably just had some Nintendo artists do Flipnotes based off of games they worked on, hence the various different art styles themed after a very scattershot selection of characters and games. I seem to recall previous Flipnote apps came preloaded with sample animations like these.
Right? If you're going to risk your freedom leaking something Nintendo related, make sure it's BOTW2 tier.
We've had rumors of a TTYD remake for a long time - even one that would hit 3DS - and the leaks yesterday mention a new PM in the style of the original games will be released this year (consistent with other recent rumors). Maybe the original characters will return.
I mean this leak is certainly not worth the repercussions that the leaker is bound to face, but Flipnote coming back is pretty great news.
If this is true, it would not be the first time Nintendo internal servers got hacked and info leaked, as in 2016 a person hacked Nintendo servers and obtained info about Nintendo Switch before its release:

If all those flipnote images actually tease other games, then some interesting things could be happening. Shame none of them seem to point to an F-Zero game or more on Bayonetta 3. Anyway, right now we only have this flipnote studio stuff and pokemon which is pretty unremarkable.

They're different positions because they're different sectinos of the app.
This is like your stopred animations pages or something. You got different colors, you got the frog icon in the corner, you got a folder.

I don't see any evidence to "internal dev servers" being hacked? A single leaked app from Nintendo and one DLC from Game Freak means nothing.
Some people are reading far too deeply into the example flipnotes in the screenshots

I'm sure it's good but it's not "I paid over a hundred dollars so a better version could be announced later" good.
This is why I started telling myself I'm a collector, so I don't feel as bad when this happens.
