The whistleblower stopped mattering the second he handed in his report. It was the ICIG that truly escalated the situation by doing his duty and investigating and confirming said whistleblower's claims. And it was the ICIG that notified Congress when he could've stayed quiet and let the whole thing die when the DNI refused to alert Congress. Repubs should've gone after that guy, not the whistleblower. But since the whistleblower is still a faceless unknown, the Repubs will continue to focus on him as they can mold him into anything they want and there's nothing the whistleblower can do about it unless he goes public. It's pretty evil.
The entire whistleblower process should've been explained and expanded on more over the past couple months. I'm talking picture diagrams and whatnot.
