It appears that it's a battle royale where everyone involved has fun with it since you don't really die you just get teleported out of the match. Meanwhile there is always some background thing going on that eventually becomes a climatic event that has a big impact on the map.

I hope they try to introduce an actual narrative at some point. The series of events strung across seasons have been very entertaining and they're all just fantastically made, but at no point has it ever been telling an actual story, and it seems like a compelling opportunity is being left on the table.

my 5 year old basically loses control of his body if the battery on his tablet dies on him

There already has been a Stranger Things event, and we already saw a pic of the new map from an App Store leak, so I don't think so, but who knows at this point, haha.

Shit like this is why Fortnite is and will be relevant for years to come, only someone huge like Epic can pull off events like this in a consistent pace. These events dont even have beta to stress test and test things out, just push it out there lol

I don't play Fortnite but that's actually pretty cool and the kind of thing that makes the "live service" gaming industry realise some of its potential
