So it's just a pizza that was being turned into a calzone/stromboli but they gave up halfway through?

It's not bad. It's a hybrid of the crazy bread (best chain breadstick by a mile) and pizza. Pull it apart and go
I had it twice and liked it a lot more the first time. I'm not sure what that says about it, but there you go.
I had one last week and the calorie count is no joke lmao, a single slice sat pretty heavy with me. Forgot to grab marinara but I liked it even without!

I still don't understand what separates a calzone from a pizza that's folded over before it's cooked
Calzone doesn't have pizza sauce inside, it's usually a dipping sauce.
yeah I know when I worked at Pizza Hut when they first did the P'Zone, it was all standard pizza stuff minus the sauce

I would try it. Probably wouldn't get it all the time. Probably since we don't get franchise pizza anyway. We get it from an actual pizza restaurant 2 miles down the road.
The pizza part has the normal sauce, the calzone part is the white sauce but you also should get a cup of marinara with it
I am only partial to calzones when the outer crust is nicely seasoned and the cheese gets sufficiently gooey. Mixes with the pepperoni grease and just marinates inside, can be good
It's all dough, cheese, pepperoni and sauce. I don't think how it's configured changes the taste
