Um Nintendo can kick rocks. They don't own the internet. Maybe self ban themselves from YT. Oh no let's censor this game running on this system. Like are we doing this really? Guess we should only talk about this on the dark web using torr.
I highly doubt a judge would think that's a determining factor for a fair use defense of this completely free educational video, but I guess they could blur those too and then defend that second video in court instead. You're in luck, because by the time they get to setting up emulators on Steam Deck, they either forgot to or intentionally stop blurring out cover art and Nintendo logos. Oops!
I'm not against emulation but this seems naïveGotta own a Switch and the games to rip 'em so it's not like Nintendo is losing sales on this.
yeah you dont "Have" to and id wager 99% of people will go the alternate method.
Maybe, but that's irrelevant for this video or thePhawx's video that got a DMCA months ago.
Dont think thats really the point of the video - its mostly about triggering a response from Nintendo and then continue a PR back and forth.I don't get it. There is no good information on how it actually runs games.
Well, thats not the whole story. It takes actually some effort to rip games and you need to have an OG Switch from what i remember.Gotta own a Switch and the games to rip 'em so it's not like Nintendo is losing sales on this.
Court. They pretty much explicitly say that in the video. Unlike most channels nintendo goes after LTT can afford a lengthy legal battle.Man, they are really trying to bait a DMCA or C&D out of Nintendo. I wonder what their plans are for once they get a reaction.

We know who didn't watch the video!
They want to see if Nintendo will actually try to bully a bigger channel and not a small one like they've done with previous videos of this kind. They say as much in the last part of the video.Man, they are really trying to bait a DMCA or C&D out of Nintendo. I wonder what their plans are for once they get a reaction.

Right, I watched the whole thing, but then what? LTT wouldn't bother with something like this unless it benefited the channel in some way. I guess the headlines would certainly put a spotlight on LTT. But Nintendo pretty much has to take the bait, because the longer they leave it alone, the more they set a precedent that it's ok.They want to see if Nintendo will actually try to bully a bigger channel and not a small one like they've done with previous videos of this kind. Here comes the Nintendo defense force who obviously didn't watch the video! Everything was backed up personally by Linus's team. Now, if you want to have a discussion whether that is moral or not, have at it.
They did a video on it (I think they got Android on it from memory). The original models right joycon slot and a paperclip/ tool (They didn't show the tool but I think it just connects two things) and it goes into recovery mode. They fixed it with future models but it's hardware based so should be doable on an OG model. Is it tough to add homebrew to my switch. Got it around launch
Not wanting something to happen and having legal grounds to forcibly stop something from happening are two different issues.Ppl might not agree with this but can understand why a company wouldnt want these kinda videos get to big if they feature their own published games.
You may look down on people from a different background and own automatic rifles but you shall never emulate Nintendo in public 🤐 don't do that, kids, it's wrongKinda funny that something that is possible and showed is getting depubliced
LMFAO I really wish there was a LTT title/thumb generator. would be a ton of fun, and I love his content, but the names/thumbnails are always so over the top
They and other YouTubers have explained that in the past, it works; things that look shit apparently get more clicks it's kinda been proven a few times.LMFAO I really wish there was a LTT title/thumb generator. would be a ton of fun, and I love his content, but the names/thumbnails are always so over the top
Oh shit, you're right. The first lab alone already set Linus back a lot financially.
