He's a shitbird, but I really do think they need to get to the bottom of WTF happened. Who ultimately made the decision to be so understaffed? Was it the Sergeant at Arms that resigned, and if so, did he have any direction from Congress...if so, who was he talking with to make that call?

Just in case anyone encounters this argument in real life, it's complete horseshit. The Capitol police answer to a board consisting of three members. One was put there by and answers to Trump, one was put there by and answers to McConnell, and one has been there since 2012 and was probably installed by John Boehner (a quick Google didn't answer that, but since he was in charge of the House at the time, that would make sense).

So, there's no possible world in which this had a shred of truth.
