Capcom has moved into roman numerals for their mainline RE games since RE 7 came out with this logo:
In a hit of inspiration, they colored the font to make the VII, representing it's space in the franchise. Awesome!
They're doing the same thing with Resident Evil 8, with a little help of the official title of the game, Resident Evil Village:

Okay, cue 2024 or so. You're Mr. Capcom, you are in charge or releasing Resident Evil 9. Of course, people expect excellency in your logos after the last couple games (no more giraffes receiving blowjobs), you are tasked with finding a title for Resident Evil 9, that is able to be colored with an IX somewhere.
(I'll give you the example of a comment on Youtube that inspired this thread: Resident Evil Phoenix)
