Now, Apidya was a fine shooter.
Not as flashy as Team 17's stuff (but technically very good, although that's not really apparent until later in the game) but at least those guys understood what made a shooter a good one.

Yep, I also loved Soccer Kid ^^^

No mouse-based games means no adventure games, no Lemmings, no Cannon Fodder, no Settlers, no UFO: Enemy Unknown, no Populous, no Syndicate etc. The backlash will be massive...

For console-style games that originated on the Amiga, I'd go with something like this:
1) Flashback
2) Sensible World of Soccer
3) Shadow of the Beast III
4) The Chaos Engine
5) Speedball 2
6) Turrican II
7) Another World
8) Lotus II
9) Super Stardust
10) Apidya
11) Alien Breed 2
12) James Pond 2
13) Ruff N Tumble
14) Traps n Treasures
15) ViroCop
16) Odyssey
17) Benefactor
18) Fly Harder
19) D/Generation
20) Fury of the Furries
21) X-IT
22) Battle Isle
23) Super Cars II
24) Pinball Fantasies
25) Datastorm
26) Uridium 2
27) Lionheart
28) SWIV
29) Banshee
30) Disposable Hero
- Fly Harder (amazing Thrust style cave flyer)
YES!

Zarathrusta, The Executioner and Gravity Force were good too.

Amiga was a great system for fans of gravity shooters.

First, it needs to have a functional keyboard, virtual keyboards are awful.

Choosing just 20 games is hard but here are some of my favorites:

Turrican
Turrican 2
Rick Dangerous
Rick Dangerous 2
Shadow of the Beast
Shadow of the Beast 2
Battle Squadron
Hybris
Blood Money
Z-Out
Xenon
Xenon 2
Venus The Flytrap
PP Hammer
Nitro
Super Cars 2
Ninja Remix
Flood
Gods
Another World

Honestly, just make it a fully functional Amiga VM with USB KB/M support and a store where people can buy any game you can license for a dollar. Done.

Oh, boy. The Amiga was incredible. Remember when you were 12 and piracy wasn't even an issue? Copy that floppy. (Of course I wouldnt do it these days, that would be illegal)

No mouse games or arcade ports takes out some classics but there's still plenty to pick from. I will probably change my mind but for now it's these twenty:

Agony - perhaps a little style over substance but it's a really neat shooter
Another World/Out of this World - a pioneering cinematic platformer
Apidya - methodical shooting goodness
Banshee - neat Euro take on 1942
Chaos Engine - I will have to play these again to decide between 1 and 2
Crazy Cars III - great speed sensation
D/Generation - the CD32 version had some nice visual touch ups to the classic action/stealth/puzzler
Flashback - cyberpunk rotoscoped awesomeness
Fly Harder - neat thrust game
IK+ - I prefer the look of the C64 version but this is still a smooth classic
Lotus III - the music's in my head right now
Moonstone: A Hard Days Knight - I love how unique this fighting/strategy hybrid is
Quik the Thunder Rabbit - mascot platformers were overdone back then but in modern times this is great to check out
Qwak - nice remake of the BBC Micro game
Ruff 'n' Tumble - solid run 'n gun
Shadow of the Beast III - not as graphically mindblowing as the original but I think it holds up better for gameplay
Super Obliteration - Pang meets Asteroids
Turrican 2 - this needs no introduction to Amiga fans
Virocop - weird and addictive
X-It - a well made Soukoban clone is good for variety

It is really hard to limit this to 20 - and I probably forgot a bunch that deserve to be here - and games that do not use the mouse.

Another World
Chaos Engine
Datastorm (would be nice without the slowdown)
Flashback
Gods
Hired Guns (great with four players)
It Came From the Desert
James Pond 2
Kick Off 2
Laser Squad
Moonstone
Nitro
Paradroid 90
Pinball Fantasies
Pirates (I can't remember if this used the mouse)
Rocket Ranger
Shadow of the Beast (not that good but iconic)
Speedball 2 (one of the best games ever)
Stunt Car Racer
Super Stardust

I had Walker on there just until I posted when i suddenly remembered it used both mouse and joystick.

Xenon 2 was an average shooter that looked good (same with Project X, very polished, good looking, ultimately a bad shooter)
IK+ i'd say is more representative of the C64.
Totally agree. I've never had much fun playing Xenon 2, despite the art and soundtrack. That said, if we ignore the games with bad gameplay and fancy art we'll definitely lose some very Amiga style games. Shadow of the Beast, anyone?

IK+ I also see as C64 game, but it would be nice for multiplayer options.
