Was about to buy the PS5 version but after reading that it is basically undercooked and just a wrapper for the PS4 version I will skip it.

Hopefully they will patch it somewhere down the line.

Surely there's a PS5 patch in the works. Historically this gen these performance and resolution metrics are beyond an anomaly.

Kinda glad went with Xbox Series X for this game. That and near-guaranteed backwards compatibility. Shame they couldn't get the dual sense working on the PS5 version. Would have been fun. I don't doubt a patch is probably needed to get it up to snuff though - these aren't exactly demanding games lol.

As always with the lego games ultrawide on PC is the way to play coop. Fantastic to have all that real estate and not feel cramped.

The game is running really well (mostly above 100 FPS) at max settings 3440x1440 ultra-wide on a 3060ti and 8700k. Luckily I have an HDR monitor, and even though it's not a great HDR monitor, the HDR pop is noticeable and looks fantastic.

Anyone seen performance reports for base Xbox One.
Buddy of mine's bday and he only has an Xbox One and a Switch wondering which version to get him
I'd have to imagine the Xbox One version would look at least marginally better, but of course you lose the handheld functionality that way.

WTF. I bought it on PS5 and I wound up switching to 30fps mode because 60fps looked so bad. But Xbox has basically the same res in 60fps? Seriously considering buying it again on Series X now.

Something went wrong here, there should not be this wide of a gulf between the two.

It does almost look like they took the PS4 pro version and ported it over without doing much - not taking advantage of Dual Sense or load time improvements.

This seems like a reasonable guess. What a disappointment.

The more proper HDR implementations that come out the more I smile these days.

Don't even have a great screen for it but thatextra edge on it always helps vibrancy or dynamics of how a game looks.

Hmm... I have the PS5 version purchased + pre-loaded but won't be playing it until probably later this year. Hopefully it can get a performance patch.

I'm on the MS Rewards site and don't see the punchcard. I see spring sale games for 5,000. I never do this so could you point me in the right direction?

You should be able to just open the Microsoft Rewards app on your Xbox, scroll down, and there should be a LEGO Star Wars punch card for 6,000 points. On my Xbox it's just below the Spring Sale punchcard.

Are you in the US? I'm not sure if this is available outside of the US or not.

Oh ok. I'll do it from my XBox tonight. Thanks!

That PS5 version is looking like they called it in for launch. Hopefully they get some patches out and bring it up to where it should be, which is clearly not the case at the moment.

Holy cow. Kinda bordering on visually stunning (at times) on Series X/LG OLED combo. Very smooth frame rate as well. Consider me impressed.

Can't say I'm shocked. There seemed to be a push for reviewers to check out the Xbox Series X version in particular. Honestly had me a tad worried the PS5 version would be worse than this!

Playing on my Series X it is a legit looker. My wife came in and said it looked crazy good like real Legos.

Weird that a lego game is the one that makes me want to get a series x finally...

Passing on this as I only have a PS5. If they improve it I will reconsider in future when it is on sale.

I had the PS5 copy on order but just canceled. Yikes that's a massive difference between versions in my opinion. Now I got to wait and see if I can track down a Xbox Deluxe copy anywhere.

Yeah, the 60fps mode on PS5 is often times blurry, the 30fps is definitely much sharper and cleaner looking.. but 30fps is not a compromise i wanna make over 60fps in a Lego game. No idea what happened here, the PS5 should be able to push more pixels. The game doesn't seem to be that demanding tbh.

Really disappointing as I have a PS5 and not a XSX. And was really looking forward to this game.

It's also in the UK from checking MS Rewards a few days ago

Thinking of getting it on PS5, but since the performance isn't the best I might wait a bit till a patch comes out. Kinda bummed out been looking forward to this game for a long time. Does anyone know if it has ultrawide support or is there just black bars on the side?

I've never played a Lego game, but this might be the first. Glad to hear the PC port is great.

Wow, glad to see that comparison.
The PS5 version is basically garbage, including near Series S effective resolution in 60fps, frame rate drops, tearing, slower load times -and- no dualsense support.
Was going to buy this Friday for the family, but I think I'll probably wait.

Shameful.

When it comes to Star Wars games, Lucasfilm seems to partner very closely with Microsoft (they've had a lot of exclusives over the years like Obi-Wan, the Kinect games etc) so it's not a surprise there's a lack of DualSense support and slight spec advantage on Series X.

Strange the PS5 version is so undercooked unless it is using some DirectX features that don't work well in OpenGL or something. I highly doubt that though. The Series S version is pretty impressive actually.

You can really tell which platform is the lead or had more work put into it. For example, with Elden Ring you can totally tell that the PS5 version was the lead because of how lacking the Xbox version was. This is probably the same.

i think xbox has a marketing deal for the game
Which means nothing? For example, Hitman 3 was heavily promoted by Playstation, and that version is 1800p compared to Xbox's full 4K output. Marketing deals don't mean anything on this context.

wish there was a way to return my digital PS5 purchase and buy the XSX digital version instead.

Interesting. I got both consoles but I've usually stuck with the PS5 because the SX controller feels so cheap and flimsy by comparison. Yesterday I tried to hook my older Elite controller to the SX and to my surprise it worked, so I'm gonna get this on Xbox I think.

The gap makes me regret not getting the Series X one but it still looks great on PS5 to me. Way better IQ than Horizon

Still want to see a DF video on this, but looks like I'll be playing on resolution mode on PS5 for now.

Locked 30fps >>> 60fps with the huge frame drops
