I was, like, "I'm sure you guys are getting a ton of calls, so I'm sorry, but do you guys have any PS5s in the store?".
I tried and struck out after brickseek said they had stock. Guy told me not to expect ps5 or xbox on the shelf til next year.
Just bounced over to my local Walmart and was told about what I expected to hear. As a longtime shift supervisor in retail, I can only imagine how mind-numbing fielding the same question from people of varying politeness must be for the folks in the electronics department.
A Target about ten miles from me is showing 10 PS5s in stock on PopFindr, but upon calling and being told they didn't have any /and/ upon trying to set up for in-store pickup through the app, I'm pretty sure PopFindr just hasn't gotten an update on their inventory.

Not really, no.
Enough people have checked Brickseek and gotten walk in PS5s today that it's worth a call or a drop by if it's nearby, though.
I don't swear by them, but I think they're still a helpful if vague indication of where retailers stand with resupplies.
Anyone in the Boston area still need a PS5 for themselves that has posted in here and is already on the list?
Central Florida is a barren wasteland for the PS5. Last Target drop only had like three of two dozen get resocked. Been empty here ever since...Feel like my only chance is a Best Buy restock or PS Direct.

If you see it on Brickseek, scalpers are already headed to the store to line up the second it hits the system....
Same with PA. Where I live I would say most Targets did not get any and the ones that did were getting 8-10 units.
Supply is just really pathetic. You would think we would have figured out how to produce more video game consoles by now. Even the Nintendo Switch is out of stock everywhere and Nintendo had over a year to prepare for it.
They are not selling them yet. I am not camping out in the cold.
Im probably bias because it is how I got mine, but I think Target has handled this the best way. Doing store pickup keeps the bots away and gives you more than 10 seconds to place an order, plus you are able to receive it the same day and not worry about some weird shipping shenanigans.
Yeah, rocking up a half hour before they open won't nab you one. The people who will be camping out will be the ones who will get it.
Depends on how many they have available. At least expect a small group formed by the time you arrive. There's likely a few that will be heading down earlier than half an hour
Make sure brickseek at least says they have it. My store went from OOS today to IS. Apparently as the truck arrived.
Only 2 out of 20 plus here said they have it.
That's my situation. Brickseek said out of stock early in the day, then 2 hours or so ago it changed to in stock in a bunch of my Walmarts. 2 of those within 25 mins of me, sadly in opposite directions...

FML. None of the 12 Walmarts in my area have any. I'd totally go camp out in the car in the parking lot right now if they did.
My grandmother also reported our closest wal mart sold 12 today (from 12pm to 3pm) damn that is 3 min from me.

DAMN I couple of walmarts around me showd 6+ in stock. Not the one in my town a couple of hours ago. Just checked again and now ALL say oos.
Why is Walmart getting so many of these things compared to other retailers? I'd rather give my money to just about any other company besides them, but it seems like they're the only store getting any kind of regular stock.

It shows as "in stock" once the receiving team finishes unloading the truck (sometimes once tgey open it)
Some stores will sell once freight it done, others wait until A.M.

Seems like that's my case. Gonna pick one and be there at 6:20 or so. Let's see what happens at 7am. If this doesn't work I'm not driving anywhere else. Just gonna wait till I can cop online.
