That's correct.Every single AAA game goes through crunch time before release. This is absolutely non-news thread.
People didn't seem to think that with Red Dead Redemption 2Every single AAA game goes through crunch time before release. This is absolutely non-news thread.
With Red Dead Redemption 2 it happened for a prolonged period, not just before release.
The situations aren't the same. Kojima Productions is doing a crunch right before launch and we have no idea how long the crunch is and how many hours employees make. At Rockstar (also Naughty Dog) there are very long periods (sometimes more than 9 months) of crunch with inhumane amounts of hours.

Also this, like come on.
With red dead we knew a little more than "rockstar are crunching". We heard of 100 hour weeks, treatment to employees through the crunch etc.
I wouldn't say every crunch situation is a bad thing. If you're a small passionate start up team trying to prove yourself in the videogame industry its pretty normal that you work hard to get your game to high standards. Crunch is a problem with big publishers forcing big software teams to work overtime to meet deadline.
Ooooooor the Kojima fans
