Wouldn't be surprised if she's playing it herself this week as part of Judges' Week.

Right now the talk seems to be early 2020, but we'll see just how big the actual release is. Part of me still expects FF7: Ground Zeroes.

Well, it's episodic.

So probably, FF7: Episode 1 on PS4 as a swan song, then some mega ultra HD version of it for the PS5 launch, and then the remaining 2(?) episodes on the PS5.

I've been saying that VII Remake will come out way sooner than people think for a while now.

I'm guessing "Part 1" is the entire Midgar portion and not much after that.

Early 2020 seems like a safe bet. Fall 2019 would be risky and it might underperform.

Midgar, With Love
I've been silently enduring my friends' persistent "lol can't wait to play this in 2029" jokes again lately thanks to the State of Play trailer. I haven't revealed to them what we know by virtue of being more glued to the industry — that there is an increasing body of evidence to support the likelihood of a relatively soon release.

I'll let their heads collectively explode next month.

Do we want extrapolate further?

I listened to Axe of the Blood God yesterday and also heard Kat"s comments. And someone wondered aloud in this thread that she could have played it herself if she was part of E3 judges week.

Lets assume the above is true. Kat was also upset on the podcast and on twitter that FFVII Remake "seems to be an action game" and not a turn based traditional affair. Could this be a hint that she didn't think it was looking good?

Its a sign that people forgot that the original FF7 isn't actually turn based.

Her disappointment seems to come from a more personal opinion point of view rather than the game playing like trash.

I mean its judges week. Plenty of unreleased games being played and shown in secret meetings this week. I'd put a 100% chance on it being at E3 and having a spring 2020 release date. I also wouldn't put it past Square to use the FFVII demo to spike sales of another game. i.e. Buy this game - Get access to FF7 Demo.

I think they'd be dumb not to attach it to another game, like the XV demo or classic Square PS1 and PS2 stuff. It definitely has that kind of power, and can really help whatever they pair it with.

Granted, press demos and consumer ones are pretty different in how stable you have to get one vs the other, but it's almost definitely worth the money (but maybe not the time?).

That'd be one way to increase sales of left alive...

Oh please don't say that :( I mean, Ground Zeroes was alright, but it was way too light on content.

I mean, I don't know how much actual development has been taking place, but this remake was revealed years ago, and I'd hope they'd have more done then they've shown. At the very least, I do hope the first part is all of Midgar.

One rumor is that there will be a demo after E3 but you need PS+

Don't buy it though

I can't believe that the game the trailer said we would see more of in June will be shown off at E3
