It also came out near the end of the year, like a week before 2019 ended, so recency bias played a role as well. RV has lots of fans in the thread too (not saying they dont deserve it because I'm a huge RV fan). Be interesting to see if or when they release another song and how it or they are received

People are posting their top 2020 songs here at the moment (and there are plenty of other lists on the internet) so I say you could start there and get a feel for some styles or groups/soloists that you like, or go look at last year's top 20. In general I would say try the more recent stuff before listening to the "classics".
