I love this video and song so much. Her inspiration was Princess Mononoke (the Korean title is Forest Child) and it's unfortunate that people are saying it's cultural appropriation. I could see why they would say that, but it's not if you understand the beautiful lyrics with the imagery.
Anyway, go check it out if you haven't yet! Definitely one of my favorite kpop songs of the year.

The underappreciated greatness of T-ara Soyeon and Nine Muses Sera is all that matters. Dal Shabet Subin is still active with her solo work.
I guess Crayon Pop Soyul is okay too. Have we had any K-Pop moms making a comeback that weren't from a 1990s-early 2000s group? Next up, Yulhee to re-join Laboum?

i've been watching a lot of the music shows (music bank, show! music core, etc.) this week, and this is the song that has really been standing out for me. absolute killer for a debut. they should have more hype.

Yeah Get It is amazing, but Spotlight even more so.
At least the rap part is really short, but still, it almost ruined the track lol.
T-ARA seems pretty underrated though, they got some bangers.

Overall, I think 2011 was a much stronger year than 2010. Contrary to the top10 I had made for 2010, I genuinely listened to all of the songs in this 2011 top10 many MANY times. My 2011 top 5 alone are all straight up bangers I still can't get enough of in 2020, for real. Not only were they amazing upon release, they still are amazing now, they have that longevity down for sure. The quality was truly there, Kpop absolutely delivered during 2011 and I was there for it! 2NE1's I AM THE BEST alone managed to be my alarm ringtone for more than 6 years (and finally got replaced by I.O.I's Pick Me around 2016/2017 ahah), and this song still uplifts the hell out of my mood every time I listen to it. Truly one of a kind!
