Yes? That matters in the determination of if he's going to he charged with rape.
Read my edit and Johns are almost never charged with rape unless the victim is underaged, which has more to do with a misogynistic legal system where female prostitutes are routinely jailed and Johns are given a fine.

Fuck the rapist Robert Kraft

I'm highlighting that there's no difference. The same assumptions that apply to an asian massage parlor would then also apply to all sex workers even the 'reputable' ones. Im firmly against the criminalization of the trade. The rules can't apply one place and not another if there's just as much chance of it happening anywhere. The only difference here is that it's an asian parlor.
Is de-criminalizing the trade going to stop sex trafficking though or just make it worse? It certainly hasn't helped protect women in most countries where's it's legal.

Isn't this man a billionaire? What's this dude doing soliciting a rub n' tug from a shady spa in backwater America?! What the fuck

But it wouldn't be real and like I said, maybe he gets off on raping Asian women. It isn't rape if your partner consents to being roughed up.

But don't you get it. He's a CEO of the kraft group. He makes decisions for his company based on risk and liability every day. The fact that he got complacent and caught is the dumbest decision he made given his stature.

I don't condone sex trafficking but if he wanted to rape underage women, his fixer can arrange that at any of his private locations. And we would never know about it.

As a New Englander and Pats fan (sorta), Kraft and Brady have long seemed like they must be crappy people on a personal level (see support of Trump, and I remember a comment from Brady about fans leaving early that really showed how aloof he was), so this isn't totally shocking on some level.

I *am* curious as to the specifics of the case. I don't feel prostitution should be illegal, but rather legal and strictly regulated, but as it is it's illegal right now most places with many people trafficked into it. From my perspective there is a difference if he had a high end voluntary escort he favored (which he could clearly afford), or if he was getting involved in women that had been trafficked. If it's the latter throw the book at him..

He was caught in a human trafficking sting, the girls there were almost all taken from China and not allowed to leave the spa. They don't think he had any connection to that part of it, and he probably didn't know that even. But he was not going to a high end place as the polices post showed the pricing there and it seemed pretty cheap for a billionaire to be going to.

Also on a side note the spa was 20 minutes from Trump's golf course.

Yeah, no. You don't get to turn that around.

Me pointing out that you're being a hypocrite is not the same thing as you entering the thread for the reason you did.

Get off the high horse duder.

You making a post on a message board isn't going to un traffick these females. Though I guess this locks right into Asterisks fans m.o. "it's not fair that people dare to talk about my team's indiscretions!"

When Ben got arrested for sexual assault I didn't wag my finger at fans of other teams for not thinking of the girl when they were shitting all over my favorite team.

he probably would rather defer to a criminal with experience in those particular human trafficking crimes over his own criminal skills.

Same reason people hire hitmen over doing it themselves.

Rich people have fixers and right hand guys that do illegal stuff for them.

I don't know enough about the countries where it's legal to answer that. I do know that arresting the end user isn't going to stop it either. Blame for sex trafficking does not fall on Kraft.

No, it makes perfect sense because he has plausible deniability and a justice system that says "those whores deserved it."

If he had a fixer do it, then there'd be a kidnapping, rape, and maybe even a murder charge, whereas here, it's just soliciting a prostitute.

Let's go the serious route with this.

How does the NFL respond? They love to play morality police with players to the full extent of their abilities, what's gonna happen with Kraft?

Get off the high horse duder.

Yeah, I'm not on one. I've already called Kraft scum. But you are not in a place to attack fans of the team for something the team's owner did when you continue to proudly be a fan of a team with a rapist as quarterback.

It's childish and honestly offensive to use a story like this for something so petty.

And that is literally the only reason you entered the thread at all.

The blame doesn't fall on him for the industry existing and I don't think that anyone here is suggesting that he was financing or directly involved in having women kidnapped but I don't think that we should be giving him or anyone else a free pass to say "well how was I supposed to know?" because you're supposed to know. If that's not what you were trying to argue then I'm sorry.
He needs to go. This will look very bad for the league and they will pressure him out.
A lot of the other owners can't stand him anyway because they blame him (ironically) for the rise of Goodell. I would bet there's a lot of grinning going on behind the scenes right now.

Whether there's plausible deniability or not that remains to be seen. Now his name is plastered all over the news, and consequences like having to explain to the public, the company, and his family. All this was unnecessary risk that he exposed himself to.

Fixers don't need to kidnap anyone. They would coordinate directly with the handlers to arrange this.

Even as someone who has never participated in this I knew that going to a place like this exposed you to the possibility that the women were trafficking victims.

The question is if he knew that this was a possibility and didn't care?

There is zero chance of this happening. He's not even going to face any criminal penalties -- first time offenders for this sort of thing generally get routed into some kind of diversion program.

You're right. Sports fandom is normally so full of rational, inoffensive discourse.

I get where you're coming from, but there's still no need to get yourself involved in a conspiracy. This is different from scoring some drugs.

If he's paying for it, he's supporting it and is as responsible as everyone else. If there's a buyer, like Kraft, there's a reason for sex trafficking. Period. He's the market for the crime. He's the purpose for the crime. He should be punished as much as those who sell it to him.
