That's cool although using a real jump rope is a lot better and much safer for joycons too.

That is pretty cool. As someone who uses jump rope as a primary cardio exercise, it'd be nice to do this on rest days without the rope.

Someone over there loves bunnies. Mario, Splatoon, DS Badge Arcade, this. There's probably more.

And seems like Ring Fit... also accounts for us who have downstair neighbors

For those who aren't able to jump, or are worried about disturbing the downstairs neighbors, players can bend their knees or move their arms to play the game without creating any noise.

The fact that this was conceptualized, developed, and released from the beginning of quarantine–now is mighty impressive for the typically slow-moving behemoth that is Nintendo. That fresh blood they started injecting into the company several years back continues to pay dividends.

I'm really looking forward to checking this out and incorporating it into my quarterly Ring Fit routine!

I miss the quirky one-off games that Nintendo released during the DS/Wii/3DS era. This reminds me of those. Really cute idea.

Being a small project conceptualized and developed during quarantine makes this really interesting to me.

here's the PR from Nintendo AU

CAN YOU SKIP 100 TIMES A DAY? FIND OUT IN JUMP ROPE CHALLENGE, OUT NOW FOR FREE ON NINTENDO SWITCH
Created by a small group of Nintendo developers while working from home in Japan

16th June 2020 – Jumping is the simple target in Jump Rope Challenge, now available for Nintendo Switch in Nintendo eShop and through the website for free as a limited-time release until the end of September.

By using a pair of Joy-Con controllers and imagining them as the handles of a skipping rope,
players can virtually jump rope every day – it's all the fun of skipping, but there's not a rope in sight! Two household members can jump in and play together to reach the high score, with each person holding one Joy-Con. With hopping bunnies as the characters, simple menus and no tutorials to skip through, it's quick and easy to learn the ropes and get started.

For those who aren't able to jump, or are worried about disturbing the downstairs neighbours, players can bend their knees or move their arms to play the game without creating any noise.

Jump Rope Challenge was created by a small group of Nintendo developers while working from home in Japan, as a simple activity to add some quick and fun movement into their daily lives.
Jump Rope Challenge, a skipping exercise, is now available for free on Nintendo eShop as a limited-time release until the end of September 2020.

If you stop jumping, the CAT WILL EAT YOU

...not true. But the background image changes whenever you accomplish your "daily goal," which by default is 100 hops--which will take roughly 50 seconds of arm waving to complete. After you finish your first day's goal, you can change the daily goal at a factor of 100.

Tap the d-pad to change outfits. Hand your second Joy-Con to a friend to do "two player jump rope." In single-player mode, only the right Joy-Con does any sensing, even though both will vibrate as if your jump rope was skipping on the ground.

I mean, for a free "game jam" thingie from Nintendo, it could be worse.
