wtf this chapter is so out of line pacing wise, but I love it, grest chapter.
Perhaps it's my experience with reading manga in bulk for most other series, but the week to week experience isn't all that important considering these get released in volumes and normal humans go buy those things to get the story and get through multiple chapters in a handy way.

Just to be an asshole
I'd put money on him being able to contain his domain to just that intersection. Slaughtering all those people? That was a "fuck you" to Yuji.

At some point we're probably gonna get Sukuna's story and I really hope Gege doesn't try to make me sympathize with him.
Tengen said that civilians already in a colony will have a chance to leave. Not sure how that is actually conveyed to them though
I'd be ton "it won't be." barring Yuji & Co.'s intervention, or another Culling Game participant.

Sukuna finally gets incarnated in the flesh after a thousand years and one of the first things he thinks about is all the women and children. Obviously not for good reasons either> I believe he ate people.

Would they even know? We still aren't 100% clear on how the government ended up explaining shibuya iirc.

Lotta innocent people probably gonna die.

I have to imagine places far from Tokyo don't even think reports are true and unless the fighting gets incredibly destructive I can see people not picking up on things right away. Then again once the bodies are piling up by the dozen its going to be a little harder to stay ignorant.

The scary thing is... You can crunch the numbers and it takes a *lot* of simultaneous deaths in a single place to register statistically. This can still creep up on people unless there's some kind of early warning and awareness.

Stealing this from reddit but it gives a good idea of the time when Sukuna and Kenjaku came about and why its referred to as the golden age of Jujutsu sorcery. Also mentions the actual person that is mentioned to be an ancestor of Gojo and Yuta.

In the databook Gege said Sukuna only kept Uraume around because they're apparently good at cooking people.

God, I can't get over how much of a dick Sukuna is.
Back when Sukuna made his proposal to Yuji, he threw in a stipulation that he wouldn't kill/hurt anyone while taking over with the "enchain" command. Now he is probably saving that particular appearance for when he can enact his plans for Megumi, but wouldn't it be some classic Sukuna bullshit to wait for when Yuji has enough points to add a rule, swap out and add something absolutely horrific?

I'd put money on him being able to contain his domain to just that intersection. Slaughtering all those people? That was a "fuck you" to Yuji.
Anime doesn't do narration, so Sukuna will have to explain his DE details himself. You know what would be a goooood narrative context for that? Him taunting "the brat" about what he is about to do.

Spoilerinos are out

Yuji and the crew trying to get info on Angel through Kogane, but Angel is an alias so they can't get it. Kenjaku walking around a colony killing people. He's leading a person by the hand and it seems to be Yuji's friend from chap 1. Not clear though.

That said it would make sense. It was implied Yuji was set up to eat Sukuna no? Her name translates to asssitant.

The Kanji for her name Sasaki 佐々木 means "assistant".

佐 = assistant
木 = tree/wood

edit: it is her

ngl I really wish Yuji was just kept as a Himbo who made his own choice to eat the finger and not this grand master plan going back hundreds of years

So it just occurred to me - since Yuji's mother is officially Kenjaku, is it reasonable to think that Yuji might surface the Kamo Cursed Technique line and Yuji winds up becoming a blood manipulator?

All the other death paintings had powers related to the Kamo line so maybe there is something there. But clearly Yuji is gonna need some new tech to bang out. And Megumi's implied growth rate is pretty significant. So maybe thats what winds up happening?

The death paintings had the kamo blood technique because they were made while Kenjaku was noritoshi and used his blood in their creation, Yuji would likely get whatever his mom technique is or Sukuna like gojo hinted

i think this is something that the anime needs to work on explaining further, it took me a lot of time to understand that curses techniques are yous "quirks","mutations"

and not something you learn to do, you know like any other "TECHNIQUE" that exists in the world
They probably should have called it something other than curse techniques

Because there's techniques with cursed energy that anyone could learn and Cursed Technique your unique power

Chapter's out!

I think that the read on Sasaki helping manuever Yuji into eating the finger deliberately was off-base, going by the translation here. Maybe Kenjaku did manipulate events like that, but it wasn't through her, I don't think. Or not consciously, anyway.

Kenjaku seems to have had control over sealed cursed objects - he released that seal at the culmination of Shibuya. Kenjaku might've weakened the seal on the Sakuna finger to draw Yuji to it.

That all said, I didn't think the chapter indicated that Kenjaku was manipulating Sasaki at all. He might just be more grateful for the fact that Sasaki noticed the cursed object and that brought Yuji into contact with it.

Yeah, this seems like a reasonable take on it. Yuji was clearly planned on some level - we already knew that to an extent, he's just too weird not to be. Given the rules of the series, you don't end up with a highschool kid that can outrun cars without there being some kind of grand design. But Sasaki wasn't involved with it.

I'm not sure whether the scar on Geto-jaku is healing, or Gege altered the design slightly to match them, but the scar in this chapter now resembles the one Mom-jaku had.

The first few pages have a really dire translation compared to the fanscan. KnY all over again.

Yeah seems like he just set it up so Yuji would get to it, idk how he planned on having him eat it but hey.

Kenjaku, watching Yuji become increasingly traumatized through the gauntlet of horrors that is Jujutsu Kaisen:

Awfully nice of Kenjaku to be decent to Yuji's childhood friends.

Not too bad of a mom for a JJK villain.

I know he said that allowing the ones already inside the area to get out was a necessary concession for the barrier to function, but if he had to sleepwalk every single person out by hand, that's kinda nice lol. Well, comparatively. A random civilian could most certainly end up much worse when meeting a JJK villain.

Anything particularly misleading about the official translation during the Kenjaku dream and sleepwalk escort sequences?

Should I check up on the fanscans or is it nothing major?

Edit: I check up and while the is nothing TOO major, I can definitely see that a couple lines are MUCH clearer in meaning than in the official translation.
