I say Sukuna only because the man was able to use some type of fire curse technique that outdid Jogo who was a specialist with fire attacks.

Sukuna may have various techniques other than dismantle and stuff.
well yeah but infinity and 6 eyes are super super super rare, gojo being nigh unbeatable is established as near canon , sukuna and him will be par or maybe sukuna just slightly stronger, to the point of it being negligble

Not that we've met, at least. Full-power Sukuna is a possibility, at least, but nobody else looks particularly close.
There was but he lost some of his strength. But there are a few Gojou thinks will rival him in the years to come
well not currently , but yuta potentially or before
maybe full power sukuna, but that's also in doubt, the infinity is pretty fucking hax

gojo also mentions : hakari ( currently suspended ) , yuta ( lost a good deal of strength but still mad powerful ) , todo as guys with potential to surpass
i think he also thinks yuji and megumi have the potential too

we also haven't seen yuki tsumuko the last special grade in action, she might be at his level or close

oh yeah megumi is implied to have the potential to do so , a lot of potential powerhouses are converging

Sukuna picking up on Megumi's potential is something to take note of, he even asked why he ran from the Special grade womb.

Gojo is kinda... weird, even by the standards of other people who could be on his level. After the Toji fight he figured out some special mindset stuff that lets him keep Infinity on all of the time - that wasn't the case when he first got ganked. I'd reckon it probably wasn't the case for that ancestor that got killed by Megumi's ancestor, either.

I think we can basically take it on faith that nobody currently operating is at Gojo's level. It's sorta foundational to the current status quo. Full-power Sukuna might be up there - he's got some weird-ass tricks up his sleeve - but that's about it barring some new players out of left field.

Basically you can blame Toji for allowing Gojo to get a powerup that enhances his already incredibly op abilities.

OK so I guess i don't understand what the tension is. If the big threat is Sukuna getting all his fingers back and reincarnating ... but the side character is already stronger ... is there a main threat here?

If you REALLY want to know where the tension is currently in the manga
As of the ongoing arc (it's been going for over a year now) the villains have succeeded in sealing Gojo away like they talked about doing in the most recent episode of the anime. Now, Itadori and the other good guys are scrambling to free Gojo because shit will seriously go bad if he isn't around.

Oh boy I would say to keep reading because man does a lot of shit happen.

It's a reason why people have enjoyed the Shibuya arc because the stakes are high.

I wonder if
Gojo will turn out to be an antagonist, or at least a morally grey character. We've witnessed Geto go off the deep end after what happened on their mission, but I don't think we've actually seen how Gojo coped with the same experience. We know he's planning to reform the system with strong sorcerers but not how far he's willing to go to achieve that goal. Not to mention some of his more sinister faces at times.

OK cool, sounds like there's a good plot ahead. I just didn't want it to be a thing where the main characters are constantly in trouble because Gojo conveniently wasn't around.

I think it is also the fact that Gojo hasn't faced a life or death threat since he fought Megumi's dad. Gojo is still young and as poodlestrike mentioned, could probably take it up a notch. Wouldn't be surprised if he learns or comes up with a new trick while sealed

I lowkey expect him to get a small power boost simply due to being rested, as he doesn't need to have Limitless active at all times while sealed.

Gotta say the anime really made Todo look handsome in his first appearance compared to his manga introduction. His manga introduction made him look like a 40 year old lol.

This is all judging from the preview pics.

His birth literally made everyone else job harder

It's definitely a good thing because it leads to more discussion.

I know the anime for Kimetsu is what lead me to read the manga same happened with JJK.
Which is a great thing!

I highly recommend Kaiju No. 8 and Phantom Seer for anyone looking for other new manga to get into that feature (monsters/demons/spirits)

So far the new manga that I had gotten into from just Jump was Act Age, but unfortunately it got cancelled because the author was stupid. Other than that I just read the new series Build King from the Toriko mangaka only because it reminds me of Dragon Quest Builders and Minecraft concept wise.

But I'll definitely give Kaiju and Phantom Seer a try especially the latter because the art looks fantastic.

Gojo would have been a great protagonist and that makes me like Jujutsu even more by putting him to the sidelines. It's the most realistic depiction of an overpowered Shonen Protagonist and the world trying to deal with it. "We can't kill him so best we can do is put him in this prison forever"

Kinda hilarious and sad how he said he'll leave everything up to everyone in his absence.

That turned out well lol......

Kaiju 8 is just so by-the-numbers that I have a hard time getting into it. The art is nice though.

Currently, I'm really into Kengan Asura. Its a martial arts manga with some killer art, the crappy CGI Netflix adaptation didn't do it justice.

I really enjoyed the Netflix adaptation (much more than Baki).

Based on that most recent chapter, Phantom Seer feels like its getting axed tbh. The mangaka's rushing at lightspeed.

Glad to hear. I'm inclined to recommend the manga anyway because the anime skipped a bunch of stuff, but Kengan is a lot of fun either way.

Well Seer feels safe atm because there are other series on the chopping block.

The backlogs are definitely pulling through and I'm glad it's gaining lots of popularity.

But man wtf at those Kimetsu sales lol. It's still selling even after the manga ended ahaha.

It's definitely why he isn't the MC of the series. It's quite funny, but I think the author Gege doesn't like Gojo either lol.

Although I did enjoy the flashback arc with Gojo and Geto because it's the one point in the series where you see Gojo vulnerable in a fight.

So that's #43, #47, and now #52. I guess he can handle all these color pages.

oh the final volume is dropping in December, it's gonna get a massive jump, also season 2 likely coming late 2021 or 2022 so expect another massive boost
it's currently the biggest anime/manga franchise in japan and there's a high chance the anime movie becomes the highest grossing anime of all time

I swear I saw in an interview that the characters he liked were Miwa and Nanami.

And that he didn't like Gojo much as well as Yuji in the beginning lol.

that's interesting , gojo is by far the coolest and most liked character and the most interesting so far, fair enough
gojo as an aside is one of the most interesting overpowered good guys i have ever seen ,not exactly hinged , a very clear God complex

Even though he is a well written overpowered characters I think that may be the reason why the author Gege doesn't like him much. In comparison to someone like Nanami who has that relatable working adult personality.

So manu things are happening in this arc that in other manga would have been like chapter 200-300

I didn't think we would get 15 fingers this quickly

I have no idea what to expect especially when there's no way Yuji can just go back after Sukuna killed an entire city of people at least thousand

Demon Slayer was the hottest anime of last year ( essentially propelled its manga to record-breaking sales for the series) and just had movie released in Japan that also broke records.

In regards to Chainsaw Man, I love it, but I was just mentioning manga that had 25 chapters or less.

Yeah, that's a lot. Though hopefully the gag chapter was at least a reduced work week. Can't remember if they've had a proper break week.

It is kind of funny to have the traitor plot somewhat promptly revealed and resolved compared to another series I am reading.

Yeah, not sure what is going to happen with Yuji considering higher ups wanted him dead before...
This is a mean edit lol

Gojo certainly doesn't have perfect judgement
