Ok got the shitty fighting viper shit out of the way. Is there any virtua fighter 5 cheese?
Also seems like the endboss of 100% is drone races time attack(that shit has me in despair) and maybe puyo puyo?(I think I'm ok at those games so not sure how hard it's going to be haven't tried yet)

Does anyone know where I can find "non-pervy" guys for Yosuke(?)? Haven't found anything for a few chapters now and I think it's preventing me from making any progress with the girl at the club.

There are 4 peoples and they're basically your fighting buddies you unlock during the friendship missions.

Speaking of friendship missions, this Mahjong one suuuucks, help...I really don't get Mahjong.

I'm happy for everyone who's loving this, but man am I disappointed.
I feel like the game tries to hard to do something else with Yakuza's engine and features and fails to deliver anything unique or really fun (that wasn't already a series staple).

Some of the things they added... I can't even. Fatal blows, lock-picking, tailing... This all makes the game looks like it's trying to cram new features for the sake of it and nothing works.
And that type of mission where they give you 3 to 5 locations to search and you'll never stumble on the right one because the event won't start until after you've actually visited them all? God.

I want to like this but it really isn't great. Finished chapter 3 yesterday and story isn't terrible grabbing either - pace feels glacial.

Mahjong is not that hard, pretty much you need to make a hand composed by 4 group of 3 tiles and 1 group of 2 tiles just like in this image (image has an extra group of 3 tiles that u dont need to make in the game)

mahjong-tiles-arranged-on-a-card-table-winning-hand-AND2MH.jpg

The 3 tiles in each group can be the same number or symbol, like a 555, or can be a sequence like 234. The group of 2 tiles need to be a pair of the same number or symbol.

Just keep discarding tiles u feel u dont need while building these groups in ur hand (dont pick tiles from other players) once you notice that u already have 3 groups complete start pressing the square button every time a new tile is drawn. If that tile is good for you it will say Riichi when u press the square button, select that and the rest of the match will play itself because you will only need 1 tile to win, other player might be in Riichi too, so the game can end in other player wining or in a draw even if u are in Riichi.

There are other winning hands u can build like 7 pairs, so if u notice u start the game with alot of pairs already you can try go for the 7 pairs insted of the 3 tiles groups.

Shortly after my last post in this thread I managed to get the 500 points in pinball, I got a bit better at it but i'm glad I succeeded in getting the high score! I've tackled a couple of side cases and now i'll continue the story.

Also...RIP Goto's face, I frequently fight him in the streets.

The search 3 to 5 locations is for sure a Yakuza staple and not new.

I like the fatal blows, actually adds more tension to the combat. Trailing is too repetitive but all the rest aren't bad and I love the characters and plot and new side stuff. I think the text dating and friend stuff is a great addition to the formula and helping people out as a PI makes a lot more sense.

Bahn. The Jotaro(Jojo) lookalike.
I tried Ricky first but couldn't beat Honey, I then changed to Grace and managed it but the last one you need to beat, Raxel just slaughtered me for like 30 minutes. Perfect throw counters, huge damage, armour breakers. Everything he did was insane. Beat him by luck eventually but i'd rather play Puyo Puyo again then that anyday.

Is yakuza 3, 4, and 5 4k on pro? I probably won't play them again anytime soon but I need them.
No idea. I think they are meant to be enhanced on PS4 Pro but I only play in 1080p so I can't really tell if its down sampling or not (the image quality is super clean on PS4 Pro though, Yakuza 3 and 5 especially look amazing on it (4 always looked damn nice, even on PS3).

I think my best was 2.2-2.5 mil out of one run - if you get lucky you can trigger the money cat more than once, and you should get a good mil per run from that alone. Such a super fun mode :)

Def felt like luck for me as well although I got it decently fast. I tried Puyo Puyo now and that seems brutal not sure my first attempt ended at a 11 streak but apparently you need a ~30 streak? Oof

Still haven't beat dural in VF5. Leaving Drone Time Attack for the last although they might make me give up in the end. the last 2 courses and in reverse are just insanely brutal on time requirements to me.

Don't forget that you can fly through Little Asia for a nice shortcut on some of the courses, fairly certain its either 9 or 10 that lets you do that, and doing it well cuts down your time significantly.

It does cut down a little bit but not enough to unfuck you from ricocheting while trying to get through the mall part. Dunno it seems to me you have to fly 3 rounds with basically 0 errors and the mall parts generally fucks me over..

I'm sure the answer to this will be no, but just in case - does the difficulty you play on affect how difficult any of the arcade games (like Fighting Vipers / VF5) are?

I'm terrible at fighting games so if it does I have no shame setting the game to easy to try and get those ticked off the completion list haha.

Only combat in the main game is affected by switching difficulty. All mini games have fixed difficulty levels, aside from Yakuza 5 and 6 which have different difficulty arcade cabs for some games. So no, your out of luck.

The last character I needed was 29th. It seems to vary but it's around that ballpark. I used a method someone here recommended filling up the three rows on the right hand side as quickly as possible then trying to get rid of blocks near the bottom to have the tower (hopefully) fall into big chains to drown the opponent and repeat. It worked very well with a bit of practice.

Virtua Fighter V I used the Sumo guy and pretty much just used the triangle punch combo with a few other moves thrown in and that was really effective (I am terrible at fighting games) It's way easier than Fighting Vipers.

Absolutely love the wall jumping and climbing over punks moves. I hope they show up in future games.
At the same time those moves go along way in giving a particular style and characterization to Yagami, but I also don't want these awesome moves to be left behind.

Just finished the game and man I loved it.

The entire finale was so good. I loved everything about it. From checking up on different leads to the courtroom scene and especially the ADDC parts.

Man those fights with the Mole felt great. The cinematography in some of those fighting scenes, it was as if I was watching/playing a Raid movie. I really liked how after you beat the mole once he comes back yet again and you have to do the second fight right after that. Felt appropriate tbh. Also really liked the fight in the casino that happened earlier in the chapter, the tension in that one was so high.

One thing that I really liked and I think they nailed in this game was the cast. Man, I'm in love with all these characters. Now I'm really hoping that after Shin Yakuza, we get like a crossover game, playing both as Ichiban and Yagami. They did an amazing job building up and creating the legend of Yagami in this game so if they can do the same for Ichiban in Shin Yakuza, a crossover game would be stuff of dreams.

Btw, I loved that entire credits sequence. So funny and appropriate.

IMPORTANT NOTE: After you beat the game, don't go to the "Premium Adventure Mode" but instead go to "continue" and load your "Premium Adventure Save", this way you can keep all of your progression and finish up the side stuff without losing anything.

oof puyo puyo is brutal I get constantly wrecked around low 10s I'm doing the tower method too but sometimes it feels you get fucked by poor timing of the enemy attack and your shit gets clogged up hardcore.

Final battle spoilers:

What the fuck was that injection all about? Was it AD-9? That should've killed him on the spot. Or some adrenalin or smt?

Great battle by the way, I played on Hard and I didn't have many curatives left because of everything that happens before. I never bothered buying food or many med kits. I mostly rolled with just 5 Staminan X. I should've learnt from chapter 10 to bring a lot more.

But if you don't rush it, those bosses are generally easy. They do have a moment where you can stunlock them (and do a Square, T, T or 4 x square,T,T heat move combo for massive damage), otherwise get in 2 hits and evade. Getting drunk isn't a bad option either, its a free crowd control heat move.

The Crane dance with Tiger is OP as fuck though, although its also wise to just use all the bars for different moves. Descriptions of some moves are vague, the kick flurry isn't done against a downed enemy but actually a dizzy one. Walljump+Square = insta dizzy, then you can do the kick special. The crane tiger dance is done by just holding R1 and pressing Triangle up close with a full heat bar + activated EX mode. No charge or anything.

Its perhaps with Y0 and Y2's final boss my fave in the saga. The cast was amazing, really. Hamura was my fave, Tatasciore nailed it in the dub. But Mercer and Freeman were also great as Kuroiwa and Kaito. And Saori was an awesome character who got a few moments to shine. Tak was also good, being a PI works for solving random NPC's issues.

The pinball game is trash. I've been craving a good pinball game lately and was hoping this might be a nice surprise bonus but hell no. It feels so... Off. I can't explain it otherwise.

Enjoying Judgment itself though. Finally got to side cases in chapter 2 and noticed that the game is opening up more. Good stuff.

I just started playing Judgment tonight and still in the middle of Chapter 1. Any general advice anyone would like to give? I'm well-versed in the Yakuza series, but since the investigations are a brand new concept and I'm still working through the first main story case, I haven't done much in the way of side activities or side cases yet.

Somehow, after just reaching Chapter 7 and more than 35 hours played, I'm realizing I don't enjoy this game as much as the other Yakuza titles. I don't even really know why, but something feels off.

I've already posted this in the Yakuza Community thread but I thought that it might be of interest to some of you guys. I interviewed Toshihiro Nagoshi during E3 and the interview is finally up (both the video and text versions are on the site). We talked about a bunch of stuff like the reason why Kamurochô isn't called Kabukichô in game, the PS5, the chance of a multiplayer Yakuza game, Binary Domain and more: http://www.gameblog.fr/interview_1209_yakuza-ps5-xbox-streaming-binary-domain-on-parle-de-tout-ave

The interview is in French/Japanese but I'm sure it can be read using Google Translate.

(Puyo Puyo is also kicking my ass by the way, my longest game so far ended after my 14th win.)

The game opens up a lot more in chapter 2.
I'd also recomend getting at least one attack speed increase upgrade pretty quick. Found they made the combat feel a lot better.

So I'm one of those Yakuza players that hits all side stuff as soon as I can rather than progress in the story. I'm only in chapter 2, finished all arcades, eaten most restaurant food, made all current friends and am working on Mahjong which feels a lot harder then previous games with the Wareme mode. Managed to beat all difficulty tables though, just need the color triplets.

Finished the first disguise sequence/mission in Chapter 1 that concluded in a major boss fight. Question though; there was a locked door or two and what looked like a hidden purple book item/pick-up locked behind one of them? I didn't have the code (I don't think?) so I missed it. What was this? Did I miss a permanent collectible? Can I go back and get it!?

Yes you missed a skill book. No you can't go back...

But you can buy it from a guy in the sewers in a chapter or two time. There's no actual moves you can miss in the game, only a couple of trophies.
