Am I just the worst pinball player alive, or is anyone else having trouble with the pinball game? The flippers feel weirdly unresponsive, and the ball just seems to fly right past them--the game doesn't feel difficult so much as sort of wrong. I played nine games and my highest score was 250; the mission for the pinball game is to hit 500, which seems like it'll be down to luck if I'm ever able to hit it.

Nah, it just sucks. Meh table and it never truly feels responsive. I got lucky and managed to smash the 500 score requirement but I'll be damned if I can remember how. There's a trick to getting point bonuses in there somewhere...

That's a shame. Congrats on getting 500 points though, that's impressive.

That's about what my score was at the beginning, but I did manage to get up to 600 eventually. The most important thing is to get PARLOR as many times as you can in a game and never, ever collect it. For every one you complete you get an era bonus. You can tell how many PARLORs you've completed by the eras you've progressed. Once you get PARLOR, you can get a bonus by hitting the topmost bumper. Try and hit it when it's on 100 points. Also, don't collect your kickbacks until they're maxed out and you have double on next hit active, you'll net a good amount of points that way. Lastly, if you get a ball stuck in the multiball hole, leave it there. It'll double your total score at the end.

As far as the flippers, they do kinda suck. The only advice I have is to not do anything if the ball seems like it'll go through the center. More often than not, it'll bounce back.

Puyo ad the drone time trials are probably the hardest things to do in the game, at least for me. I've done it all in the Japanese version and those bits (and Shogi) are the ones I'm least looking forward to doing again!

Do I need to press a particular button at the start of a race to engage the "turbo takeoff" skill?
No one knows? The skill says to accelerate at the right time, but there isn't an accelerate button. Is it just move forward on the stick? That doesn't seem to work, but perhaps my timing is just bad.

If I haven't paid much attention during the first chapter, did I miss some missable achievements? Interested in going for a platinum first time through, but not sure if I want to restart.

Each time you can investigate stuff, there's a stray cat to find in each one and there's a trophy for finding all of them. You can't get everything first time anyway since one of them requires replaying the game on Legend.

Can anyone tell me where to find a Mysterious Stone? I've been looking for an hour now, lol. I've picked up dozens and dozens of items, but only one Mysterious Stone -- I need 2. This is driving me insane.

Was looking for them myself a few days ago. You can get them at the gathering spots at Kanrai and Cafe Alps if you've done the required friend events. And they can spawn near Little Asia, in Ebisuya and a couple of other places.

Dude this game is awesome. I really like the story thus far and Yagami is like the Akiyama as main character I wanted but never got. His fighting style is super fun and I'm glad that it went back to more of the Yakuza 0 style of play.

I wish tailing were just a QTE sequence in which I was suddenly pressing a button to hide when the target glanced behind themselves. The tailing sequences aren't difficult, just tedious and not particularly organic. There have been three or four moments now where I've felt like I had to change hiding spots or walk forward a bit because it seems like the target is stuck, and I can't tell if something's not being triggered or if the animation of the targets looking around just goes on forever. I appreciate that the chase sequences are effectively just QTEs now, as their initial implementations in Yakuza 4 (if I'm remembering correctly) didn't have an automatic endpoint, and so my chases would often start lapping, whereas Judgment thankfully has them end after you hit a certain location, and you don't have to sporadically dash to close the distance between you and the target. Assuming Judgment gets a sequel, I really hope we get a similar streamlining.

So after deleting and reinstalling the game, and then reinitializing my whole PS4, I'm still getting frequent crashes when playing Judgment. I'd think I'd see more comments about crashing if it was being caused by some issue with the build that's on the PS Store, so I'm baffled by what's going on. It's frustrating, because I'm enjoying the game, but randomly crashing every 15 minutes or so puts a real damper on the experience.

Thank you! I couldn't find any resources myself after looking for quite some time -- didn't have too much insight into non-English websites for help. I saw a couple of people point out Cafe Alps, but mine never gives the damn stone. I'll try those other options later today.

I'm at 29/50 Friends in Chapter 5 right now -- so trying to get Iyama locked up now to hit that 30 threshold for more side cases.

End of Chapter 4 spoilers
Holy shit at that twist at the end. The moment the phone started ringing in the office I was sure he was dead and hidden there but then you get the "This is Shintani" part and think he is alive right before the body crashes to the ground. So intense.

Seems like story is finally picking up.
Yakuza studio are great when it comes to storytelling. They aren't getting praised enough about it unfortunately
Yeah when I heard the vibration I was like "oh hell no" I might be hallucinating. But after Yagami opened the closet for a bit i was like good not here but then the corpse fell and I lost it

I play too much Motor Raid lol.

I found out you can lock on and throw your weapon by holding the button. You can also do stunts during this weapon downtime. The how to play is in Japanese though, which makes it a bit vague.

The meat is in the single races, they are tougher and take as long as the championship.

I also played the lightgun shooter and died at the final stage. I wonder if they couldn't just put HotD1 in there lol.

I think if you hit accelerate twice real quick in Motor Raid it gives you a big speed boost, as long as you have meter. It makes the game really easy (but no less fun). Its rough round the edges, but I really like its inclusion because its not been ported time and time again like other arcade games, so it feels brand new to me (well, it is the first home port after all!).
I'd love an arcade perfect port of HOTD finally. Saturn version looks like ass and my lightgun won't calibrate on my old TV properly so it has a nasty blind spot. But Kamuro of the Dead is a worthy replacement, and a fantastic nod to Dead Souls (its actually better than Dead Souls thanks to its controls not being terrible, perhaps the best Yakuza asset reuse yet!)

Oh man I really loved Chapter 5.

Playing through the flashbacks and actually doing the case from 3 years ago was so good. I honestly thought at best we'd get a few flashback cutscenes explaining what happened in the Okubo case so this was actually a nice surprise.

Its a well done chapter that really fleshes the story and characters out wonderfully. I'd forgotten about it until you brought it up, makes me more hyped to replay this when my copy arrives soon!

I'm not sure what you need to press but I do know you have to press whatever-it-is it the moment the countdown hits 1. I saw a streamer do it.

How do you get play passes? The casino seems pretty expensive and none of the other mini games seem to be giving any.

They are dropped by random encounters frequently, and act as rewards for some other mini games (baseball gave out a few from what I remember). Either way, you should be aiming to just get a complete free pass anyway, much better in the long run. The pieces are available from several casino shops etc. (and also one part is a prize in the last Drone Racing GP).

You need to save scum to get enough chips. I was convinced Black Jack was rigged when I played it.
