Didn't buy in on Marauders being a red issue and X-Force was the same old Beast being a clumsy incompetent monster but Hellions was great fun as always.
  • Sinister: "Which is Cap America and which is Iron Man. Sorry I don't own a TV."
  • Nanny dishing on Sinister's atrocities while he's trying to impress Thor and BP. Sinister: "That was another Mr. Sinister. I'm one of the good ones."
  • Orphan feeling drunk yelling, "I love bananas!"
  • Nanny taking the brawl as her cue to shatter a bottle and try to kill Sinister yelling "Judgement day motherfucker!"
  • Sinister telling Franklin Richards he can fix is problem.
Besides the hilarious bits I liked all the characters moments too, especially from Greycrow.

I wonder if the "fireworks" are them revealing their resurrection process. In universe people don't know about it yet and That seems like it could generate the reactions we see (diplomats freaked out, dr strange stunned, cap upset).

Basically the mutants telling the world don't even bother killing us, well just come back.
Won't it just attract more eyes on them ? The brains would understand the process and try to find the back ups.

In PoX, they were talking about 4 backups, 5 if you include Cerebro.

Having more backups will mean more problem to update each of them weekly. Most of them are on Krakoa too which is a problem.

I thought the initial bottleneck was the first back-up to cerebro. Then it was Forge who would mirror it to however many additional cradles.

Though I suppose they could also use the diamonds to make a single master back-up of Krakoa as it is now, and hide them across the universe. Even if they weren't updated, it would mean someone could always find one and restore mutants/krakoa to their current state.

So I didn't miss anything, right -- whatever happens at midnight to spook all the guests was left intentionally mysterious?

Hellions has made Greycrow seem like a cool dude and really fleshed him out as a character.

Hellions keeps ruling the X books. Just fantastic. Marauders was fun but yeah, no need for it being a Red issue. The only important part would be what was cut from the issue, the thing that supposedly would cause thr entire world to unite against the mutants according to the Brazilian ambassador. And that will probably only be shown in Planet Size.

Honestly, the biggest surprise to me, is how smootly everything went on the Gala.
No world ending scenarios, no alien invasion.
Just interactions and fancy costumes. This is refreshing.

I like how Emma was all "It's not like we are going to try to take over the world!" and the dude from the Shiar is right there and says "Ah-congratulations on your conquest of Earth!"

I was just thinking about this page, and... Steve is thinking that a woman who goes to a party in next to nothing and wears a giant X statue as a hat reminds him of his mother. Just how wild was Mrs Rogers?

(I know the theory that Steve was messing with her, and I find both interpretations VERY funny.)

I know that. But the Hellfire Gala is a state party. The man who rules 70% of the planet should be there.

Namor is already granted automatic citizenship of Krakoa and can show up whenever he wants, but has firmly rejected the idea. If he's not there it's not because he didn't get an invite, because he doesn't need an invitation.

Pretty art alert

-Prominent Kill Shaw knuckle tattoos on display
-Why are Jean, Logan, Gambit, havok and Polaris down and out
-Bei and Cypher hype
-Mystique right behind Moira
-Magneto looking max fassbender here
-The five are here all looking at something off camera

I know the art doesn't necessarily mean anything (See: X of Swords) but still, fun to see

it makes me sad they haven't used this chance to introduce / use more of the Arakko mutants. I like new characters :(

Can't be, he said he wanted to write on X-Men for years...it's only been two so far!

And one of the years was fucked by Covid! This is probably just Hickman bouncing from the main book so he can do lore important stuff. His New Avengers for the X-Men, but across minis, crossovers, and events. Which would work for the X-Men more than it would've for the Avengers, given the larger amount of titles.

Yeah, there is no way this is the end for Hickman. They would promote it as the epic end if this was the end and it would be a lot more than 4 issues. I think we are probably at the halfway point with Reign of X.

Krakoa gonna need these resurrection protocols for itself.
Watch as Apocalypse and his mutants from hell come to the rescue like they're the Riders of Rohan.

Wait...seems unclear....is this the end of Hickmans run?? Pls say it aint so
No way. But yeah, reading that I got anxious like "are we already at the halfway point?"

I know he was never going to stay this long on the X-books but I could've sworn he said he was setting up stories to run for several years.

I think it's more that mutants will no longer be an endangered species well after Hickman has left. Even if Marvel wanted to put them on the back burner for some reason, having them all holed up on Krakoa is a good way to keep them out of other stories without needing yet another genocide.

Finally caught up and started reading Marauders this week. I gasped at Xavier's sick burn on Franklin, the kid didn't deserve that.

especially you, Franklin

Those Shi'ar logic crystals are what house the backups right? I wonder if the exponential mutant population growth with all those Arrki mutants is why they need so many more.

I'm also very curious as to what exactly Emma showed at the end. Plans for Mars terraformation? It must be some bold move to galvanize humans as such.

Also that frame with Ben Grimm gave me so much life. The Marauders would be outside gambling.

So here's a question

In theory, could the resurrection technique that krakoa is using also work on all humans if they programmed cerebro to backup their minds and had sinister get their DNA?

Or was there something explained in the books about why it only works for mutants

Yes. See Nimrod. Brain stored on a logic crystal and popped into a robot body. You only need the DNA if you're putting them in physical bodies I would think.
