Really don't like this guy. His politics are questionable after Jack Ryan and its portrayal of Venezuela, and the general portrayal of Arabs on the show.
It'd be the first Marvel movie I don't watch.
Why is he a piece of shit? Not much of a Fantastic 4 fan, so I don't know much about the character.
He's so unlikable to me (in the films) with his giant ego. He's my least favorite character in the films.
If they can't get Mads due to him being in Doctor Strange, I'd be down for a Viggo Mortesen Doom.
Uhhhh do you know that Jack Ryan is actually *not* a documentary of John Krasinski?Really don't like this guy. His politics are questionable after Jack Ryan and its portrayal of Venezuela, and the general portrayal of Arabs on the show.
It'd be the first Marvel movie I don't watch.
You think mads mikkelsen could be in the mcu and somehow be forgettable?
Did we saw the same movies? His character arc is one of the best redemption arc we have seen ever.
It's okay, at least you can understand why some people like him while knowing why you dont like him and not trying to discredit others! Who is your favorite character? I wasn't a fan of Cap America (too perfect, the reverse of Tony) but he grew on me in the last few moviesI think by that point I'd just tune him out... Which I'm aware is silly and petty...
He also starred in 13 Hours, the Michael Bay movie that basically told the GOP account of Benghazi in 2012.
How was the Democratic account different? I mean the actual battle
They should get Justin Theroux as someone. He could be Doom. He could be Mr. Fantastic along with Nora (Carrie Coon) :)
If they bring mutants in, then I could see a cyclops and Jean pairing work
Basically that, yeah, we fucked up, and sorry for the lives lost. But Republicans think it was a massive betrayal of our allies and the armed forces, and Obama should have been impeached for it.

You'll get Bobby Cannavale and you'll like itChiklis deserves the chance to be The Thing in a good F4 movie
Reed Richards is a piece of shit and I think it'd be a strange decision to make him likeable. But then again they mostly succeeded in making him suck the last few tries at FF and those were horrible.
People are shitting on you for saying this but you're right. He makes Chris Evans look like a leftist at this point
This is also part of why his youtube thing make me uncomfortable. it's like stealing the cody johnston formula for use in those mall kiosks that play a combination of ads and buzzfeed top 10 lists
In the few two years, though, as Krasinski starred in big military dramas and directed a film that some read to be an allegory for conservative ideals, a narrative started to develop around his persona. In August of 2018, BuzzFeed wrote an article titled, "John Krasinski Wants To Play Red-State Heroes Without Getting Political" and in November an old video of him saying "the CIA is something that we should all not only cherish, but be saying thank you for every single day" was being heavily criticized on the Internet. Insider wrote, "A brief history of John Krasinski's transformation into a guy who absolutely loves the CIA," and Mel magazine ran an article saying "Jim From 'The Office' Was Always a Cop."
"That narrative is certainly not the narrative I intended to put out there. When people look for something that they want to see, I can't stop them from a subjective belief in something," says Krasinski, who cohosted a fundraiser for Elizabeth Warren's senatorial campaign in 2012. From his perspective, his decision to star in 13 Hours—about the attacks on the American diplomatic compound in Benghazi—was not a political one. "I have 11 aunts and uncles and cousins who have been in the military or still are in the military. So it was a big thing on my list to get to do a military movie or show or something," He says the film was about the individuals and the events of that night. Not politics. "As far as Jack Ryan and the CIA, I always say it's about the people. I'll always respect people who put their lives on the line for people like me, who they've never met."
As for that specific CIA comment Krasinski says, he meant for it to be a comment about the men and women of the CIA, not the agency as a whole. "If you start breaking down every single CIA event, do I respect and honor all those? Of course not. Of course not. Do you respect and honor every facet of every single president? Of course not."
I would be totally fine with him and his wife as Mr. & Mrs. Fantastic. These hints are tantalizing. In the last one he said "Look at that, I just made my wife disappear"
LONG PAUSE.
He is so hinting at it, I wonder if its actually happening??
Oh please, he took a big paycheck that he does not need to do this awful show. It's completely fair to criticize him for the show's politics.
I appreciate stuff like this being posted. I think its fair to be critical and cautious of him. I previously liked him but not so much after what I'm reading. Oh well. If he doesn't become a super hero I won't lose any sleep.People are shitting on you for saying this but you're right. He makes Chris Evans look like a leftist at this point

I'm in the same boat. 13 hours, Jack Ryan, Micheal Bay's production company bank rolling A Quiet Place, and random ties with the other "nice guy republican" Chris Pratt make me not trust him.
People are shitting on you for saying this but you're right. He makes Chris Evans look like a leftist at this point

That was Tilda Swinton. Pretty sure I'd remember if mads mikkelson was in that movie

I am so fucking tired of this nonsense.
Way too many people have such a desperate desire to try and ruin or smear people based on literally nothing.
Look, I love Chris Evans and would probably go hetero for him if he wanted, but the dude is about as liberal as it gets. Lot of "We need to bring respect back to the White House" energy and such.
Don't some right wing people support Bernie as a way for deflecting from their positive views on Trump? Just look at Joe Rogan. Also, all I can find for his support of Bernie on google is a post from a fake instagram post from 2016?
Listen, I may be dead wrong but during his press run of 13 Hours, I remember all sorts of alarm bells going off in my head. Wish I could remember some interviews to link. Anyways, this movie comes out in an election year with a SUPER reactionary subject matter and here is nice guy Jim from The Office selling America on Benghazi...by way of Micheal Bay. Just felt weird.
Again, I could be wrong. Just going off the things I saw.
As Krasinski explains it, "No one wants to be first in this business," so it was tough to get a role that really departed from Jim. But, as Krasinski explains it, Michael Bay took a chance on him for the military thriller 13 Hours, a role he wanted because he comes from a large military family. "I certainly was not the first choice for that movie. Michael really was the one who gave me that shot."

Thanks for the info and links, but
"He says the film was about the individuals and the events of that night. Not politics."
wat? I get that he was interested in doing a military film but, pick ANYTHING else? Bay obviously made and released that film to prop up bullshit talking points. And him ultimately getting the nod from Bay to be in the film shows me Bay was thinking "He's the perfect person to make this talking point palatable to people who might find BENGHAZI!! repulsive."
Though I'll gladly admit I'm in the wrong here because the fundraising for Warren is a pretty big blow to my argument. At the end of the day maybe he's just left wing dude who wants to do military fluff pieces. But his decision to work with Bay, during that year, was a bad call IMO.
