Ace Combat 7
Kingdom Hearts III
Resident Evil 2 Remake
Dead or Alive 6
Devil May Cry V
Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice
I can't remember the last time I wanted to play so many games in such a short time span, and all of them Made In Japan, and coincidentally three of those games are from long dormant franchises that fans have been dying to see return. Great time to be a fan of this hobby.
LET US GO TO THE WIKIPEDIAS!
I'm not necessarily posting about a game because I think it's great as much as I am trying to be thorough. =P

Might have missed stuff for 2016, but indeed, I would say 2017 would be up there for one of the best seasons for Japanese games. 2015 is up there just because of Bloodborne, but on the whole, many were remasters and such.
