"As one who loves Israel, I am deeply saddened by the news that Israel has decided to prevent Members of Congress from entering the country.

"Last month, Israeli Ambassador Dermer stated that, 'Out of respect for the U.S. Congress and the great alliance between Israel and America, we would not deny entry to any Member of Congress into Israel.' This is a sad reversal and is deeply disappointing. I pray that the Government of Israel will reverse that denial.

"Israel's denial of entry to Congresswomen Tlaib and Omar is a sign of weakness, and beneath the dignity of the great State of Israel. The President's statements about the Congresswomen are a sign of ignorance and disrespect, and beneath the dignity of the Office of the President."

In the abstract I see what you're saying, but the reality is that the "US government" is a collection of people with petty whims and desires one of which is to get people to vote for them. Also, I think you're discounting the fact that very many of these people actually believe this too.

Of course people believe it, but that doesn't mean that's why the government cares. For example, a lot of people believed Iraq had WMDs, it wasn't why we went to war. That's the story they told to convince people.

??? What more do you want from that statement?

Less of this shite would be a start "Israel's denial of entry to Congresswomen Tlaib and Omar is a sign of weakness, and beneath the dignity of the great State of Israel"

It's not a sign of weakness. It's racism, and it's par for the course for apartheid Israel. "beneath the dignity" lol "great state of israel" lmao

Minority representatives need to keep pressuring israel to bite the hands that feed. Actions like these inevitably accelerate the implosion of the failed ethnostate project.

I'm optimistic that the tide is finally turning against Apartheid Israel. Trump saying such blatant things is finally making Israel a partisan issue.

Trump encouraged this act of retaliation by a foreign government against members of the U.S. government. It's a betrayal of our country in service of aligning right-wing racist parties internationally, and an impeachable offense.

This is a big deal. We have a POTUS attacking sitting members of congress in an attempt to appease a foreign power.

It doesn't even matter which foreign power we're talking about. His actions are absolutely unacceptable, and this should be grounds for impeachment all on its own.

So, the US embassy is calling US representatives terrorists? Not that I like this word, but the US is acting like a cuck, undermining its own institutions to please a foreign country.

Im confused at Trump's tactics, and this is why i fear those Alzheimer's rumors are true. Who wins here?

Even as bipartisan as the country is, banning two congresswoman is a bad look that's going to give both sides pause.

His base automatically hates the congresswomen for being minorities and having vaginas, so there's only so much wind left in that balloon.

It makes Israel look shady as fuck internationally, and arguably makes it even look more like a vassal state to the US...in a bad way

Rashida Tlaib @RashidaTlaib

This woman right here is my sity. She deserves to live in peace & with human dignity. I am who I am because of her. The decision by Israel to bar her granddaughter, a U.S. Congresswoman, is a sign of weakness b/c the truth of what is happening to Palestinians is frightening.

Not like Israel were ever the "good guys" anyway. A lot of the founding groups and individuals committed acts of terrorism, sympathized with fascism and fascist parties in Europe, and tried to ally with Hitler against the British before the full extent of the holocaust was known.

Now that's definitely not to say that everyone who supported the idea of Israel is a fascist or anything. Just pointing out Israel's fascist tendencies and history go back to before it was officially founded. Much like Trump in the US, Bibi is a symptom, not the cause. Not accusing you of doing this or anything, it just always bothers me when people act like Israel was some paragon of morality before Bibi showed up.
It looks like you're talking about the paramilitary group Lehi from the 40s. That did indeed exist but they were far from mainstream, the smallest of the three pre Israel groups.

Additionally that sort of thinking ceased to exist very shortly after the actual state was founded. Most of the first parties were socialists.

That isn't to say they were all a paragon of virtue, but they just weren't fascists.
I feel like the word fascist is tossed around a lot to mean "undemocratic policies" or "racist policies" and it doesn't have the same meaning.

The Trump Administration just put out an official statement saying that supporting BDS does not count as free speech.

I assume every FREE SPEECH WARRIOR on the right is up in arms now, correct?

Really dem leadership should stand up and say NO DEM congressman/women will go to Israel until they are all allowed.

We could have Israel by their balls and force them to either accept or double down with accepting only the Republican vote officially. And then they will make this a major Dem/Rep issue.

Israel has done more hard than good in this world. Anyone who stans so hard for that apartheid state is disgraceful.

When has the US ever used Israel as a staging ground?
Not yet. There's plenty of US military bases and personel.
To the bolded: Not really, no. Only those who are of the correct ethnic category.

DailyBeast: Israeli Policy Keeps Black African Jews From Their Families
Haaretz: Israel Rules Not to Recognize Ugandan Jewish Community
Disappointing. Just another example how the move towards global fascism is growing.

While growing up I went to summer camp with an Ethiopian Jew, I met his family a few times, they were very nice. As a Jew from NYC I didn't even know there were African Black Jews. They have a very interesting history.
