America and China have been neighbours at the shit end of the global peace index for years. China having more severe surveillance than the US doesn't negate the fact that they're both closer to North Korea in overall influence to world peace than other developed nations. As a Canadian, pragmatically I would rather have China spy on me than Five Eye allies with extradition treatises.
