No. It will be forgotten in 10 or so years, meanwhile I am your father will be memorable for at least a few centuries

That's not a plot twist. Thanos killing everybody in the previous movie is a plot twist.

EDIT: Okay guys, I get it, you don't like Marvel and this scene is based on a comic 99% of the audience never read. Thanks. This is a Wendys.

The way people get the Star Wars line wrong, I'm pretty sure that Avengers will be referenced by clapping in a few years.

I definitely think it will be remembered in some capacity.

Honestly, despite my own feelings, I don't really think movies matter as they used culturally, so something like that Star Wars moment is unlikely to happen on that scale again, I think.

Funnily enough, it might be Hans revealing he's the baddie in Frozen. Kids and families were raised on Frozen. Lol I'm not saying he's as good as Vader, but it's quite a heartbreaking and hissing scene for them.

Infinity War's snap is.

Yeah.

Like... I knew it happened in the original story, but I was fully expecting it to be a very short lived thing that happened and resolved in the same movie within ~30 minutes, not unlike the original comic's snap. I like that they didn't do that and went a different route.

I think "You think thats air your breathing?"
Was more of an iconic whoa statement of my generation for me.

Avengers Assemble is just the "they have a cave troll" scene from Lord of the Rings but in reverse.

"I am Iron Man" is the MCUs "I am your father".
Why you thought it was this, the world may never know.

It's more the erasing part that might have a longer shelf life. Perfectly balanced as all things should be.

Think about how a general (aka not a bunch of nerds) audience perceives the moment. In that regard, as others have pointed out, the Snap in Infinity War is far more affecting. General audiences had no idea Marvel would do something like that to the characters they loved, and--like with Vader's reveal--they had to wait a while before they could see what the fallout would be.

In order for this thread to make sense, we'd need a plot twist to a major blockbuster delivered as a single line (so the snap doesn't count either). Can't think of any candidates.

Rey pulling the lightsaber in The Force Awakens was for me.
Girl sitting next to me cheered and cried at that moment.

I don't see how that's a test... And even if it was, how or why anybody reacted the way they did. The mcu had several movies lined up post infinity war, how could they possibly kill all those characters? It confused me how that got anybody worried or concerned in anyway.

No, it's Judi Dench spreading her legs wide and scissoring them in the air to express approval in Cats.

No, lol. Nobody is speaking about it, its not going to be referenced in pop culture.
