This. It's literally illegal to carry knives in public spaces if it's not for a specific purpose where I live, so no. Not that I would if it was legal, mind. I see no reason to.

What if you get approached by a box in a dark alley that needs to be opened?
oh no :PWhat if you get approached by a box in a dark alley that needs to be opened?
I keep a knife in my glovebox in case I need to cut something open. I don't carry it around with me.
but lmao at these people raising their pinkies and being like "No because I live in the civilized world"
No
And also the term "every day carry" is annoying to me. It seems to mainly be used by gun nuts and knife weirdos.
Eh gun nuts and Mall ninjas glommed to the term. It's intent is pretty benign What shit you carry in your pockets. The major thing is that no sane person really carries anything worth talking about. No

No, but I actually want to get a small multitool that can let me cut something (like a dog leash) if I was ever in a situation.
Any good recommendations?

Yeah, I don't generally carry a pocket knife either, but I don't get the hostility to the idea in this thread. It can certainly be little more than man jewelry in some cases, like a watch, but some people like having a useful tool on them and have uses for it. It was pretty common for men to carry a small folding knife or multitool in their pocket where I grew up. These were small things, under 3 inches (and often much smaller than that), and often didn't even have a locking blade. They're tools, with no pretense of them being a weapon or anything.
Benchmade knife, for opening packages, cutting cardboard, prying something open, and one of any other hundred reasons a tool might be needed during the day.
Same. Crazy to think about, but I think I've used the tweezers the most on mine, lol. Maybe followed by the bottle opener.I carry a Swiss army knife with me. Those things are damn handy.
You can't stab someone with a watch. And the people I know that carry knives with them are already a little off. And you referring to it as jewelry is very validating to my overall point.Yeah, I don't generally carry a pocket knife either, but I don't get the hostility to the idea in this thread. This is hardly an exaggeration.

It's just that, but with my work keys, home keys and tuck keys, and that S9 phone, it's all I want to carry.See, now I want to know what's in your pockets? Most people just have a phone, keys and wallet.
First time I ever heard the term "every day carry" was actually from a maker and they were neither "gun nuts" nor "knife weirdos". Their EDC didn't even contain either a gun or a knife...we'll not explicitly a knife, but rather a multitool where the knife was essentially a butter knife that was good for neither cutting or stabbing. No
