There's nothing that sounds like a "y" in there. It's just Seh-ga.

It's seh-ga, that's what those videos are saying too. Saying say-ga is like calling Ryu rye-you. (Which people still do anyway.)

Haha, just "Meh-gah". ;)

Fun story: Way back in the day, the MegaDrive was the top prize of a raffle at my dad's work. Mum told me not to get my hopes up, but being a kid, I couldn't help myself, and he actually won. I think Sonic 2 was the first game I played, but, oh boy, did I fall in love with Wonder Boy in Monster World, and the criminally-underappreciated (and under-released) Daze Before Christmas.

Edit: Uh, I had no idea DBC was so rare. If only my parents hadn't thrown out all of my "old games" when we moved.

The hell at people saying Saygah. They say Sega to me in the splash screen. I wonder if it's a language issue and we hear what we want to hear (I'm Spanish too)

has how we pronounce Sega been one of those "blue/gold dress" memes all these years?

It's say-ga. The start-up screen literally says that. Although I can see how people would think Seh-ga is pronounced the same way? It depends how much emphasis you think is put on the Y, I guess.

Also I'm from England if that helps.

The voice clip very clearly says say-gah, so it's say-gah.

In the video(s) I clearly hear Say-ga.

Well, listen to it more carefully then ! :P

How is the poll split... it's Say-ga.

THE VIDEOS ARE RIGHT THERE.
It even says Sayguh. Whenever anyone says Sehga I do the sideeye. Luke Smith on 1up circa 2006 I know u.

WHY THE FUCK IS SEGHA WINNING

Ok, some of the posts in this thread are fucking gold ! :D

Now say it the Dead Rising 4 way ! :P

Wait, aren't Seh-ga and Say-ga pronounced exactly the same?

It's not "Seh" but "Sé".

It's absolutely Seh-ga (although maybe not as openly pronounced).

That sounds nothing like say-ga.

I feel like the Puyo Puyo Tetris intro is unambiguously Say-Ga. That is how I've always heard it and said it here in the US since the early 90s.

And people are going to tell me they say Saygah here?

I mean, it sure doesn't sound like "seh", either? Like "meh" or "heh"?

Unless people are thinking it's like... "eh?" with an S at the start... in which case that's just "say"

I'm genuinely just kinda baffled

I've always seen 'seh-ga' as an American thing. You know what they're like.

I haven't trusted them since 'aluminum'.
