I just bought the game again for Steam.

The initial moments already put you in the mood: tension, fear, anxiety... I start remembering more about the game:

- The minimalistic but sublime aesthetic.
- The sound effects and the subtle musical notes.
- The movement of the character. The superb animations.
- The story-telling: the virtue of telling a lot without the needs of words and long explanations, just by looking at your surroundings and playing.
- That unforgettable ending...

This is a game I would personally recommend to someone wanting to start experiencing videogames. And I think that is a huge praise.

Absolutely. It`s one of those very rare near perfect games, imo.

One of the best? Not sure, depends on what the cut-off point is. It's for sure amazing and one of my favorites. Everyone should play it.

One of the best 1st time playthroughs for sure. Wouldn't call it one of the best games ever made though.

Very excited for Playdead's take on open world and 3d gameplay.

An example where you don't mind at all that the game has control of the camera at all times because it makes very good use of it. Not just gorgeous, but poignant use of cinematography.

At the very least, I consider it a milestone in gaming, given the number of "Inside-like" games that followed it.

It is a very fine "experience", but I don't think the gameplay is particularly good or inspired. Definitely worth playing for said experience though. It's a great example of visual storytelling. Very moody and atmospheric.

It's a work of genius. I hadn't been as immersed in a video game since Super Metroid. How a game can say so much with no dialogue is stunning.

It's designed to make you feel like it's one of the best games ever. But it's not.

It's good, but it's not the second coming of Christ.

Somewhere
a legit 10/10 experience.

The only thing I didn't care for was the ending
I think it would have been more satisfying had the blob gotten away. I really thought it was going to get back up after its fall and slink off into the ocean. After manipulating the boy and plotting this great escape, having it fail right on the edge of getting away felt like I had been robbed of a pay-off. But then again, the plot is so interpretive that maybe the blob wasn't even trying to escape, who knows.

Still 10/10 though.

I'd never heard of it but from that screenshot I looked it up on the PS app. It's on offer for about a fiver in a bundle with Limbo... Sold!

Edit: By fiver I mean ÂŁ5.

My favorite game from 2016. A toss up between it and Doom 2016 for best game of 2016.

It felt really, really polished and thought through from a design perspective, I just found the story wrapping of it all to leave me unsatisfied and confused.

I played a little bit of it the other day, and so far I hate it.

It feels like a bunch of instant-fail quicktime events in disguise

The first part where a dog came after me felt like really bad design, and has really soured me on the game.
The part right before that seems to teach that getting seen = failure. The first time the dog came at me, I tried to run, and it was just so much faster than me that I figured there was no getting away from it like that. So I spent many attempts trying to avoid being seen, under the assumption that I was essentially dead as soon as the dog came after me. Then it turns out you just have to run without stopping to barely barely escape...

As far as puzzles and platforming, it's all been extremely simple so far

So... it gets better? Or is all the praise for the atmosphere/story of it?

Yes it is. I've lost the count of how many times i finished the game. I adore it.

I wouldn't go that far. I found it fairly disappointing coming from Limbo. The gameplay aspect of Limbo was stronger. But I do think it is very good, and worth a play for everyone.

I'd say yes. It got great but not too complicated puzzles, a super weird and creepy world, amazing graphics and atmosphere and great pacing. I loved that game.

Nope. Puzzles were too simple and relied too much on scripted "will he/won't he make it" moments that got stale.

I liked the arthouse aspects of it but didn't feel as connected to the world as I did Limbo.

Some of the story bits feel a little too much like it's sending you in circles. I'm fine if a game wants to be vague, but Inside takes it a step further and starts to form a world but just makes making any sense of it at all impossible. Any explanation you begin to form for one set of events or characteristics is going to be contradicted by some other breadcrumb of information somewhere else.

I liked it fine.

As an experience, it's excellent, I'd recommend it to almost everyone, and it's not something I'll forget anytime soon. But I can't put in in my own list of best games as the controls were merely decent, at least compared to my favorite 2d games.

I'd say so, yes. It's nearly perfect in everything that it sets out to do. It's a triumph from a minimalist storytelling/gameplay perspective, and its atmosphere is unforgettable.

Its a great game but not on the all time list for me. I actually played GRIS straight after Inside and preferred that by a quite a bit

It's good, though not as good as it could have been, but it's no Desert Golfing

I enjoyed the game.
But the trial and error nature of it and the amount of times where you are basically forced to die at least once to figure out what to do got me really frustrated with it in spots.

I expected more from it tbh. Playing Limbo for the first time was a much more unique experience.
