Ten post down then you get "Go to the damn doctor!!!!!"

Uhh, maybe I'm too gullible. I thought the green noises drawing was serious and I thought blame space broke his TV for real. Dunno about the rest.
I just know my take was that those threads were created for the singular purpose of getting laughs. Got to look at the context.

Old GAF was great because it didn't take itself too seriously and most "here's my problem" threads usually evolved into bad MS Paint drawings and damn good photoshops.

I have legit been told that by other mods. It is what it is.

Dude, did you just quit your job after two hours because no one gave you shit to do?
Yea, I dunno if there was a specific memeable moment from this, but it's absolutely the funniest thread on here.

The audacity of these fucks to pay me for twiddling my thumbs. I will get back at them by refusing to get paid.

It came from this thread here.

www.resetera.com

Um, is it normal for someone to casually admit to pirating stuff?

I was at a work meeting about 50 minutes ago, and during the lead up into it we were all talking about how our Thanksgiving break went. We talked about traveling and activities, and I brought up how I basically spent the entire break playing DQXI on the Switch. Then, one of my co-workers said...
Here's a search for all the times it was posted on twitter before 2019.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Also, Toku from GAF was one of the first ones I recall to start using the "white guy blinking" gif. I guess that's not really 'starting' a meme, but that shit was used a lot in that timespan.

amp.knowyourmeme.com

Blinking White Guy

Drew Scanlon Reaction, also known as Blinking White Guy, is a GIF of Drew Scanlon, video editor and podcaster at video game website Giant Bomb. The GIF of Scanlon is used as a reaction image capturing feeling slightly insulted or confused.

The Netherlands
Green waves/Spidey and the Final Fantasy "I'm an expert on Japanese Culture" one are my personal favourites.

Edit: and the 30 dollar Italian meal.

I don't think you can truly cut it off at Gaf/Era. The community here was the gaf community do hard to have a hard fork there.

I'll always have a place in my heart for $30 italian meal, porn noises, ellie we really are the last of us (less of a meme than just a good thread), "i'm an expert.

I'm still curious if that had anything to do with WoW. Huhuran was regularly called Huhu, and she was a wasp that you fight in a hive.

Maybe I'm looking too much into that but I always thought that might be it. I mean the guy was obviously faking it but still.

It tends to get passec off as an in game quote, despite the line not being in the game.

Does anyone seriously believe it was an in game quote? Literally the first page in that specific thread was taking the piss out of the OP with their own iteration of "you know Ellie…".

And that's what the thread became. And it still gets meme'd here.

But hey, you find it super pathetic (for whatever reason) and unfunny. It's okay :)

No they don't. OP just has a blind spot in their sense of humour.

It's not passed of as an in game quote. It's a line that's so incredibly stupid that you'd have to be a moron to think it's in the game.

Every time it's posted some dipshit goes "OMG that's a real line from the game?!" and then you get to laugh at that person.
