Always felt IO would've ended up with The Punisher if they ever did a Marvel game, but this is definitely a step up.

I really hope they keep the same open ended mission design as the Hitman series. I'm sure there will be some action set pieces as well but the open ended areas in Hitman were so cool.
Well you couldn't pick a more apt developer for this project. I'm assuming it's going to be more like Absolution (i.e. more story-heavy, and with slightly more action) than the recent Hitman trilogy, and I think that's perfect for a James Bond game.

I think with the game clearly as far off as it is, PS5/Xbox Series only is basically a given.
Though I wouldn't say no to something on Switch, even if it's just a cloud version. Hell, maybe IOI, Nintendo, and Rare can come together and get Goldeneye on the thing with online multiplayer.
That doesn't necessarily mean they won't use the likeness of the next film Bond (whomever that ends up being). They've had Brosnan and Craig in games with original stories.
Embracer Group have been in discussion with a variety of developers and publishers to join its conglomerate. IO Interactive would greately benefit from the capital injection that Embracer Group provides.

So would this be set in the 60s then since it's an Origin story? In any case, this seems to be a great team pairing considering how good Hitman and Hitman 2 turned out to be. There better be some casino mini-games though.
Again, Casino Royale was a reboot set in modern times. So that's not a given.
That will depend a lot on how much flexibility EON is willing to give IOI on that. But agreed, I love the idea of it, it'd be like Alpha Protocol but with a massive boost.
