lolAre there really enough people still playing GTA V for this to be worth it? Seems wild to me given the rise of so many other multiplayer games.
Yeah I'm wondering how many people in this thread play gta online to begin with before their "i already bought the game I am forever entitled to perpetual free content because X game does it"
GTA+ Members can also take advantage of special GTA+ Shark Cards that provide extra bonus cash from the PlayStation Store on the PS5 or Microsoft Store.
The warning signs were there several years ago;

Well expect for right now where the current gen version is free on PS5.So -
1. The game is not free and costs money.
2. Current gen versions cost additional money.
3. Bursting at the seams with microtransactions.
4. Subscription service.
Usually even mobile games will only adopt one or two of the above points. Rockstar has included all of them into their 10 year old game.
you would only be crazy if you said they aren't gonna add this to GTA 6Call me crazy but i'm gonna say this.. they're gonna add this to GTA 6 online in the future (multiplayer won't be free).
We're already half way down the slope. It started with shark cards.
We will never get a good single payer GTA again.

Its that 2k executive who was annoyed people were playing GTA online "for free".
No mate, we paid $60 and your online game is peer-to-peer. It's not costing you a dime.
Wouldn't be the first time.COD is also rumored to have its own subscription (no idea how reliable it is though), I wonder how many will try this new model and if is going to work out. Battle Pass already seemed to be ''enough'' when it comes to long term commitment from the players to get in-game content.
Don't a few live games have these kinda of services?
I hate GTA but am having a real hard time working up any outrage for this.
I think it's more they know the majority of PC players play on RP servers and the console market is where the majority of where they make their money and where most the players are.It is so funny that it's only on consoles because they know damn well that console players will sign up for anything.
If your customers are cows it's your duty to milk them. This industry just keeps looking for new ways to milk it's customers doesn't it?
Sony paid them like, a quarter of a billion for the next-gen deal. There's a decent chance this could be part of that. What's the betting this is one of the headline inclusions with Sony's Spartacus offering?
