you are talking to a halo fanatic. while i certainly want to see ALL they have to show, its halo then everything else for me.

that and i've been expecting the "early flighting" for infinite's multiplayer since like December 2019. Not showing halo next week means thats pushed out even further. I want to play the game, but i think its important for development too, ala halo 5. or, at least it should have been. like i said, i'm hyped AND disappointed.
My exact sentiment.

I wonder if we're going to get any Game Pass announcements during the show?..
I imagine they'll sprinkle in some Game Pass stuff. Like maybe announce AC:Odyssey is up right now, maybe show off a fewer day-one indies.

And if they did have some sort of absurd acquisition (like the unrealistic possibility of Cyberpunk being on Game Pass day-and-date) - this is probably where you announce that.

They had every intention of having a press conference including first party titles for E3, so I'd say June when e3 was originally scheduled is a safe bet.

I'm basing this off of Shinobi's comments, with COVID-19 and developers working from home, I wouldn't be surprised if some things need a bit more time to be set up. It could be why they are doing a two-prong approach to this.

Third parties now, first party later.

Yea, I'm not expecting a big next-gen AAA game to launch on Game Pass, but this seems like the place where they'd announce it if there is one.

I like the approach of teasing us with 3rd party games and then showing the good the next month. Excited!

Now this is when I get excited. Not arguments over giga, terra, mega, mini, variable, clocks, and all the other stuff. Show me the goods!

pumped up for this and pumped up for Sony to show as well. Next gens on the way!

Except there is a reference to summer as their plans for 1st party. Which would point to late June at earliest. I hope that we get the tent pole event "conference" in early June with more detailed dives into specific 1st party games throughout the summer

It would be pretty disingenuous to call this a next-gen reveal if they only show cross-gen games, imho.

No fun allowed.

You should also go into pc threads and tell them that top tier games are compromised since I can run them on low end i5's.

On a serious note, let people enjoy the moment man without pouring negativity into it - we've waited a long time. Go peddle your 'ps5 games are true exclusive' mantra in the ps5 threads.

E3 is in june right? July seems pretty far for a proper reveal, shouldn't they reveal the price before that?

Anyone who's disappointed is crazy.
We've waited longer than we did this gen to get to see 'any' gameplay, and then an entire show gets announced and now you guys are sulking?
Madness. And these are games everyone will be able to enjoy as well, not just Xbox owners.

Personally, I'm hoping for Starfield.

Yes yes, I'm sure you're really quite concerned about the whole thing.

I am in the same boat. Infinite better deliver or I may drop the series for good.

I don't think they take it that literally. Microsoft's Xbox Summer Sale 2019 started on June 7th for example.

Give me Halo Infinite and Elden ring pleaseeeeeee. Dying to see some info from both these games. Next gen here we come. Never been more excited before for an xbox conference.

Edit: God damn it no first party games. What a dumbass decision. They should at least give us a halo infinite teaser to hold us over till their next event.

.....and here's our newest studio aquisition... Capcom!

Nice to finally see a confirmed date, They must be super confident in the first party stuff to split it up like this.

Finally!!! Can't wait to see what they have in store for us and how the new AC will look. I hope we get to see at least 1-2 first party games, even though they are doing another event later.

is it weird that I'm already deflating my hype intentionally so I'm not let down again like last time? How many of these are going to be cross-gen? and are there really no first party titles? I hope there's a bunch because thats the exact issue the xbone had. Trying to keep myself in check here. Still hyped.. just trying to remain realistic so I'm not crushingly disappointed.

edit:

I understand not wanting to step on toes in these tough financial times, but not having Halo Infinite, Forza 8, and Minecraft RT at the first gameplay reveal just seems like a wasted opportunity for eyes-on hype. You can still do a deep dive on any title shown in the May event, at a later date.

How many of these are going to be cross-gen?

I imagine 90% of the titles released this fall for both consoles will be cross-gen. Cross-gen means different things on Xbox, since buying the One version automatically gets you the Series X version as well for some games.

There will be first party games just not at this event. They said there will be a dedicated event "this Summer" for first party. Expect a lot of games to be cross-gen though, I don't think there's anyway that developers want to miss out on an install base of 150+ million consoles.

They must be pretty confident in the visuals of whatever 3rd party games are going to be shown, since this will be the first "proper" reveal showing off their hardware. Just would have expected them to lead with their own MGS stuff.

People are checking for those games regardless, they don't need special promotion, or to be first.
