As a Huge KI Fan, i'm hoping that they will go back to KI2; The best fighting game of them all.
The ki3 had a lot of bad things:
- Art (character design)
- Music
- A lot of things are missing from KI2

KI 3 has more top tier tracks than either KI/KI2 have TRACKS
or are you one of the strange ones that think Mick Gordon got popular because of Doom?
Also not sure I should even try arguing the character art. KI and KI 2 was just Fulgore, Orchid (sort of a character because she had unique weapons) Jago (sort of?) and Glacius surrounded by the most generic characters one could imagine. No joke. Most characters in KI and KI 2 had less effort put in them than Omen and he's just transparent dude with a mask. Rest? werewolf with a shirt, jason and the argonauts skeleton wearing a bandana, dude on fire, demonic cyclops, raptor wearing bracelets, barbarian with tattoos, jungle girl with a tiara, racist stereotypical depiction of a native american man, gargoyle, boxer and eventually boxer with an eye patch. I guess Kim Wu sort of gets a half pass.
Outside of the core 4, their designs were sad but brought to life with their movesets or personality. Even with Kim Wu considered as a somewhat ok character, that means that not even HALF of either KI1 or 2s roster had actual effort put into their design, but that there's less characters between both KI and KI2 (excluding redundancies) in terms of quality character designs than KI 3 had in their 6 character launch.
KI 3 brought respectable designs and redesigns to characters that quite honestly were nothing but a handful of napkins with scribbles.
In terms of mechanics, yeesh... mechanically KI3 is one of the best fighters ever made. I am not missing anything from KI2.
