In 2004 we got Halo 2, Half-Life 2 and Doom 3. In 2020 we get Halo Infinite, Half Life: Alyx and Doom Eternal

With FFVIIR, TLOU2 and possibly BOTW2 also in 2020, there's a good chance it could be... plus next-gen that we know little of.

We also got VtM Bloodlines that year and Bloodlines 2 next year.

Fuck we might even get Age of Empires 4 next year. I just can't. I feel like this is a cosmic joke and I'm going to die before 2020.
We also got a Metroid Prime and Metal Gear Solid game in 2004. We aint gettin those next year though.

Nah. Age 3 definitive edition is next year. Age 4 is aiming at 2021.
We also just got 2004's version of World of Warcraft in Classic. It's a good time to be nostalgic for the early 00s (is it even long enough??)

Woosh that's a good find and makes you think about evolution of the genre, even gaming industry as a whole.
Throw Batman and Elden Ring in there as well as everything else mentioned above with Nioh 2 and Streets of Rage 4 on top of it.

Man I feel like crying out of joy right now, the only thing missing that would blow me totally away would be an Underground 2 remake.
Half-Life 2. I found Halo 2's campaign to be a step back from the first game. And Doom 3 was very disappointing.
It's basically guaranteed to be one of "those" years like 1998, 2004, 2007, etc. I mean- Cyberpunk, TLOU2, FFVII Remake, Half Life Alyx, Halo Infinite, Doom Eternal, Ghost of Tsushima, Watchdogs Legion, (potentially) Horizon 2, (potentially) Zelda BoTW2, other unannounced next gen stuff. My wallet's going to be crying.
