Yes, Your Grace sounds kinky.

It's not at all - it's a pretty cool Run a Kingdom thing handled via narrative primarily. I really enjoyed it when I played it as it has great art direction, some really good writing and a fair amount of replayability to explore other choices and see other aspects of characters.

I don't have a single game in the bundle and I don't buy indie games unless they are bundles so 🤷‍♂️

I said this was going to happen the moment IGN bought them and was ridiculed for saying it.
You predicted that it would be a decent value for some people and undesirable for others month-by-month but everyone would still just Veruca Salt out about it every single time that it didn't cater exactly to their interests? That's truly some impressive foresight.

Then just... pause it and resist the urge to make a thread complaining about it.
Positive vibes only, can't make a thread about something that bothers you. Multiple people were reminded to pause this month thanks to this thread, as they share the opinion of the OP. Thread deserves to exist, you can resist the urge to post in it.

I've been thinking about Deep Rock so I will probably not pause this month. Considering how many people will already own that game though I understand how this month would be a let down.

Yeah, that's the real kick in the nuts now. Use to you could "just pause". Now you're actively punished if you do. Kinda says it all how they're planning their output if they gotta hold membership perks hostage.

And they cut the games per month way down under the auspice of delivering bigger games

Eh, this is one of the better months for me so I'll probably resubscribe. I wanted to play Necromunda, Yes Your Grace, and Trudugrad. Yeah the "AA / AAA" selection sucks this month but some great indie games.

Necromunda is really good, I'd get the bundle just for that if I didn't own the game already.

I paused for two months and am probably going to pick up this bundle because it has stuff I actually want. Didn't think it was all that bad…

Already have Deep Rock so I'll probably try to sell that for like $4-$5

Lmao at the "don't make threads complaining" replies. Some people need to just stay off the internet if they're going put up that BS behavior.

HB has had a lot of stale months for me, and I've opted out of renewing my annual last year. That isn't to say there hasn't been good months, but their quality over quantity approach doesn't quite live up to all the reassuring they were doing when they sold themselves to IGN.

Even if it's complaining, I for one am very glad to see a Humble Monthly thread being made. Much better than there not being one at all, which has happened a few times recently!

If I was still subbed I'd probably claim this one for Necromunda alone, but without a discount offer idk if it's enough to make me sign up again.

Oh give me a break. A post that's essential "Hrmmp why isn't any of this for ME??" isn't the same as legit criticism. I'm far from a "positive vibes only!!!" person.

I suspect the issue with Humble not securing the "bigger" titles like they used to is I just don't think they can compete with the kind of money Epic and MS can pay to secure a giveaway/gamepass release. I think many companies would rather hold out for those deals before going to bundles.

That said, it really only takes a couple of games at a combined historical low value for some of these bundles to still be worth it and I still find a decent amount are to me.

I mean, I haven't read a single sentence about what specifically is wrong with any of the games mentioned in OP. What makes this crop "the worst humble bundle i've ever seen?"

Especially since all the games have pretty positive reviews and individually cost as much as the whole bundle.

I haven't touched the service for almost two years now after they started going downhill. I also realized that even if the offerings were good, I wasn't playing many of the games included since I was busy playing other stuff, and then I'd completely forget that I had them. It's a similar problem I run into with subscription services in general: too much to choose from. Even at the heavily discounted "come back" deals they've sent me since unsubscribing, it's just difficult for me to get excited about these anymore. Reminds me how much I miss those old Humble Indie Bundles. <3

That is a pretty damn good month to me. There have been far worse imo. Just in the last few months I recall seeing the selection and thinking, "so this is what rock bottom looks like."
Yeah, you are. Sorry you see such negative connotation to the word that it's poisoned, but everyone posting on Era Gaming is a gamer.

Fair enough

I mean the obvious answer is that except maybe one game none of it appeals to me

But I'll elaborate

Usually there's a bit more variety

3 of the 8 are strategy games

2 shooters

And rpg that literally tells you you need to buy the 1st game to understand it.

The vast majority are either sci fi or fantasy with all but 2 having cover art that feels very samey even if the games are different genres.

Usually there's some solid narrative vns or other kind of heavy narrative game.

With only 8 options I'm just really feeling a lack of variety here.

Yes, Your Grace is an absolutely fantastic game and well worth a play through if you have any interest in games about medieval political intrigue.

Can you be a complete amoral bastard tyrant?

Technically yes and boy does that ever have a cost. It's also a giant fan of "every decision has a cost" and there are technically quite a few branches you can take through the story.

The best way to describe the game is basically what Telltale's Game of Thrones game should have been.

I had three or four of these titles on my Steam wishlist so I'm pretty happy with the selection. Different strokes for different folks and all that though.

Hmmm, I'll probably get something out of it but I fully admit that Mass Effect's morality system has completely destroyed my interest in games where being an asshole must have consequences because Renegade Shep was the most goofy fun I've ever had with a game so I'm always chasing thst high lol

Well Mass Effect and Fable III lol

Girlfriend you have a Deus Ex tag on one of the net's most active gaming forums. Is "video game enthusiast" highbrow enough? Or are we going full renegade and rejecting all labels?

Video game enthusiast is perfectly acceptable

But ummm Bad Praxis has nothing to do with games though, that was from an OT Thread where I was making a bunch of well received jokes about a bunch of random absurd shit being bad praxis in the marxist socialist Sartre geo political context

I was on humble monthly for years. Last year, I stopped it altogether because I realized I never really wanted any of the games anymore and was just burning money.

Doesn't look like that's changing anytime soon.

Highly encourage you to not think about it as a morality system and more of a branching path narrative where doing the right thing or wrong thing has a whole bunch of consequences that you need to then get yourself out of/deal with.

It's really not as black and white as say Fable or Mass Effect.

so dont buy it then

jesus gamers

as always with this stuff there are good games here but they don't have big explosions or huge budgets so it's obviously shit
Fucking thank you. Yes, Your Grace is great, Atom RPG seems to be a pretty well received original Fallout successor. Does it have a massive AAA release? Nah. But it's still more than decent. Even then, the value is there. I only really want Necromanda and Lawn Mower Simulator, those cost more than the $12 I spend a month on this.

Yes Your Grace is a top tier game so I don't see the problem here.

I don't think someone not wanting to be labeled "gamer" in a post GamerGate world is unreasonable lol

Not wanting to use something because the alt-right has dinged it will always be an unreasonable, ignorant position.

The alt-right will never stop attempting to take things, that's why the best course of action is to reclaim them and do better, rather than letting bad actors freely take words and symbols and groups away from people easily - because they will never stop.

I dunno, I think it's a pretty solid set of games. I already own Deep Rock but an extra key means my daughter can join me on mining adventures.

I don't think I've paused a month yet, although there were a few bundles last year that didn't have much to offer me beyond games I already owned.

naw, this is a pretty good month, I'd say.

Both Deep Rock Galactic and Necromunda are great gets. Atom RPG Trudograd seems to be a great Fallout style CRPG based on steams's 93% user reviews, and I also hear Yes, Your Grace is quite good. Heck, even Lawn Mower Simulator is fun for a quick laugh or some serious lawn mowin. The others aren't super attractive to me, but they seem like quality games.
