Is that why they completely reversed course and went a whole new direction with RE7?
"in my opinion" is implied. Obviously. If this pisses anyone off, that's on them.
I mean you're technically not wrong, but let's not pretend declarative thread titles like this one aren't bait as hell.
I don't think so because RE2 Remake came after RE7. So, goodbye tank controls. Is that why they completely reversed course and went a whole new direction with RE7?
It didn't bother me in the slightest I'm just bringing light of it for future threads. You know as well as I do how crazy sensitive some posters can be here :p"in my opinion" is implied. Obviously. If this pisses anyone off, that's on them.
I don't get the love. Revelations 2 is leagues better in every regard, particularly the core gameplay.
But RE2 Remake encourages you to stand still while you shoot. Doesn't that mean the game is shit?I don't think so because RE2 Remake came after RE7. So, goodbye tank controls.
Does RE2 Remake play worse than RE6? Because you've got a hell of a lot less movement options.I don't think so because RE2 Remake came after RE7. So, goodbye tank controls.
I Always move while shooting in RE2. Thanks Capcom for the mouse+kb version...But RE2 Remake encourages you to stand still while you shoot. Doesn't that mean the game is shit?
Rofl, these takes are starting to sizzle. I like Rev2, but it's like, a lower budget title with absolutely nothing special going for it in terms of gameplay. It even has a dodge button. There is zero tension.
Re4 is a masterclass in encounter design. The control scheme might be dated now, but the game controls really well if you get used to it.
You do realise you only get a perfect shot in REmake 2 if you're standing still, right? You have to focus your shot. It's a key mechanic.I Always move while shooting in RE2. Thanks Capcom for the mouse+kb version...
Yes. That's why for controls RE6 > RE2R >>>>>>>>>>>> RE4Does RE2 Remake play worse than RE6? Because you've got a hell of a lot less movement options.
You don't need perfect shoots? Also reloading and moving. So good. You do realise you only get a perfect shot in REmake 2 if you're standing still, right? You have to focus your shot. It's a key mechanic.
I've tried countless times to get into it and honestly, whatever the appeal is, it's lost on me. I didn't experience it at the time, so I'm unable to appreciate the impact it had at launch, but it doesn't hold up in the modern era in the way that classic RE and Final Fantasy games do.
Plus, it was also responsible for setting a trend that put the franchise on a downward spiral for the next decade, only averted when they took the franchise back to its survival horror roots.
Well this has been quite the development.
This. It is the RE4 of the now.Bloodborne says hi, if you didnt play, you should.
One of the best ever.
It's the full package. It's like nothing good was left out during development. The pacing and gameplay are all really just perfect. I can replay this game over and over again and never really get tired of it. I don't think there is a single thing about it that i dislike.
It's 2019 and this game still puts so many other games to shame, including most future RE games.
It drops the ball in a lot of areas coming off the original. As a remake I have a lot of issues with it. It's not like the first REmake which offers everything the original did but more and does it better. REmake 1 remains the gold standard for remakes.RE2R really could have been better, but dropped the ball in a few areas. Close but RE4 wins.
This quality is indeed rare but imo Bloodborne is an even greater package
So it has been surpassed and Bloodborne will be surpassed in the future

May I ask when is the last time you've played the game? And do you have a pro? I have a decent pc and I'm used to 60fps and I'm using a monitor with zero input latency and that vastly improved my playthroughs. Idk if it's my monitor or boost mode but I can barely notice frame pacing issues or input latency.Bloodborne is in my top 5 but it runs like ass. Terrible frame pacing and long load times that are made even worse by the game design forcing you to warp around for different reasons. RE4 has no such issues and runs like a dream.
That said, a 60FPS 4K Bloodborne with near-instant load times on next gen may get me to reconsider that.
Dead Space 2 is a much better action horror game than Resident Evil 4 is in every regard. It has better shooting mechanics, better narrative, better characters, better set pieces, better horror, better enemies, etc. It is Resident Evil perfected.
There are plenty of games out there that are subjectively better than RE4 and you don't have to look hard to find them.
Sekiro comes real close for me, but that took 14 years. It's one of the best of all time, but by no means are there no games as good since then.
This argument doesn't makes sense. Each Resident Evil is totally different from the others. They just like to try new things, to innovate. Why RE 5 isn't RE 4.2 since it's so perfect ? See, doesn't makes sense. Is that why they completely reversed course and went a whole new direction with RE7?
They already did thatI recently tried replaying it and could only get through about an hour of it. The controls are just horrible. The game is in need of a remake with decent controls.
