Americans must see how hypocritical the republicans are.

They must..........

I mean they scream about partisanship, and are obviously partisan.
They whine about process, and are telling everyone they will fuck with it.
They cry about fairness, and are proclaiming they will do everything to be unfair.
Republicans couldn't be any more transparent that they are a swamp.

America. Please.

tens of millions of people don't care as long as their team wins.

same people don't care about climate change because profits.

same people wants tax cuts for the wealthy believing they will benefit someday.

same people care more about their racism and bigotry than the country.

basically there are tens of millions of people that would destroy this country rather than make things better for everybody.

There is no appealing to anybody that still votes republican.

I am pretty sure this is always what was going to happen. The GOP will now take the lead on forming the narrative - ramping up the narrative that this is partisan hit job by a loose cannon House. The Democrats in the Senate likely wont do much because decorum and compromise, and the House wont have any red meat to throw to the press to help keep the public focused. The media will probably just let it fizzle of it isnt generating hits and then move on to ignoring anything crazy Trump and the GOP do while focusing on how the Dems are becoming reactionary socialists.

Impeachment was the correct way forward, but it wont remove trump and probably wont have any impact come election time unless the Democrats actually invest in a strong PR game with a unified House, Congress and Candidate, and somehow get the media to actually be interested in something other than Trump.

The rumors about Graham - that Trump has some really bad dirt on him... sound more and more plausible.

he was tough with trump... until he played a round of golf with him

Why are these dudes willing to lay down their lives for Donald fucking Trump? Like why do people go to such massive lengths to defend the guy?

Anyone with half a brain can tell just by listening to the dude that he's off the fucking rails. I don't get it man. Cult of personality I suppose.
Why does this question endlessly pop up in every thread topic touching on the GOP? The reasons for their undying support of Trump should hardly be opaque to anyone who's been paying attention for the last three years.

This is fucking wild. Going to be amazing for historians to look back on this era and see how corrupt our country was.

My feeling is that facism will take over the world in the next decades and they will rewrite history. Future generations will be indoctrinated so they won't even know about this.

Shit like this is nothing but a stepping stone towards a dictatorship. Democracy is way more than just having elections, and one of those other things is elected officials being punished for their wrongdoings while in office.

His Democrat challenger is almost tied with him polls. vote people

You're telling the wrong audience to go out there and vote. Biden doesn't bring out the energy for voters to vote. Bernie does. To a lesser extent, Warren. Facts. By wrong audience, I mean it's less Era that needs convincing to vote for Biden, and more every day people who don't represent the views of Era.

These assholes aren't going to respect the voting process in 2020. People call me crazy or say its impossible but if the Democratic Candidate wins the presidency, there is absolutely no way Trump goes willingly. Either an indefinite state of emergency or a governmental shutdown, they are gonna hold the country hostage to stay in power. There is no room for civility and there absolutely needs to be preperations for the chance he gets a 2nd term, cause that's when the real evil shit will go down.

Like most Mob Bosses, Trump is very big on Loyalty Oaths. This comes across as a public Loyalty Oath by Graham. I've never been more sure Trump has kompromat on him. This isn't to excuse what a terrible person he has long been all his career.

This scenario is silly. If Trump tries that, he will have broken the law and possibly sent to prison. He will be removed by force if necessary.

There was so much talk about checks and balances when Trump was elected, was everyone just very naiive?
It seems to me that the US president has way too much power.

We were under the assumption that other institutions would stop him from acting like a dictator (not Congress, of course, but perhaps SCOTUS).

That was apparently wishful thinking too.

The concept of America as a country with three coequal branches of government has been shattered in record time. All it takes is a power hungry president and the entire system collapses.

Only way things will change is when people are starving in the streets and riots start. Yeah, that sounds hyperbolic but the average American doesn't really give a shit because their 401ks look good.

People who brought that up generally believed Republicans in federal positions would act in good faith, it was clear to many that wouldn't happen.

Go vote and hope to win.

Such an experimental phase for the conservatives these four years and they must be pretty stoked with the results.

You mean like the time he broke the law by bribing a foreign country into interfering with our elections, immediately after a 2 year investiagtion about the last time he worked with a foreign power to interfere in our election? Nobody is gonna do shit, this dude will never face any meaningful consequences.

If, in 2020, the GoP control the house and the senate, and have a 5 to 4 advantage in the supreme court, who will remove him? With what force?

Also, if the electoral college just sends their EC votes to Trump against the wishes of the voters, that's perfectly legal, too.

Honestly why does America even need a president? This whole sham of an administration proves that the party supporting it can get away with anything. Am I missing something? Giving one person so much power seems ridiculous.

The executive branch has gradually assumed more and more power while the other branches either willingly go along with it or fail to properly serve as checks. It's a cumulative problem.

It sure seems like it. Graham is publicly doing exactly what is required of him, but it's so blatant that it's almost a cry for help. Lindsey blink out SOS. He's not stupid, but it almost looks like he wants someone to do something about it.

unfortunately America is the least armed and most shy country in history with no sense of pride or exceptionalism.

actually in this scenario I'm sorta glad our 2nd amendment folks are not concerned with the 25th

Your system is starting to look real broken guys. How can he legally do that, even publicly admit to it, with no issue!?
