$699:

4 USB ports for Dual Sense.

Two player setup using arcade setup.

Can switch over to DS controller instead of Arcade pad.

Arcade Screen is 1440p, but have option to purchase bigger resolution screens (cost more).

Can HDMI out to a TV or Projector as an option.

Specs still stay the same...

Your thoughts?

Why wouldn't they just make an arcade cabinet that you can put a PS5 in rather than have it be stuck inside an arcade cabinet

No, I don't have space for one. Also, no way that'd be $699

I don't really see the appeal personally.

Might as well make the screen 1080p 120hz if it's intended to be used for fighting games.

Seems pointless honestly, if you really wanted one of these niche machines you could just build your own cabinet.

They should totally do it just so I can get good 1440p support before I buy the console.

Playing a AAA open world game on an arcade cabinet sounds horrible.

We live in an apartment and, even if we were home owners, I don't see the point of this. I like our couch and we have a very nice tv.

I can already imagine playing non-fighting games on this and it's already giving me nightmares.

Plus I like my couch.

They don't even support 1440p right now, so it'd be upscaled 1080p lmao. The perfect experience. I'm sure it could work but with so many cinematic games they should just go the Jurassic Park route and have a vehicle that moves just so people can sit down.

Not for me. If I wanted to I could move my sofa Infront of my LGCX, or wall mount it and connect my fight stick to get the feeling of an arcade machine

Make your own buy a cheap Arcade1up machine, gut it and put in your PS5.

No thanks but I would buy a 2020 PS3 with full ps1 and ps2 disc compatibility and a digital store for games Sony wants to figure out licensing for.

Frankly sounds like s terrible idea.

Buy a smaller TV and stand around it. You'll still be wasting less space.

I got a Quasicade arcade cabinet 15 years ago on clearance for $1200. Contained no console. No way what you're describing would be $699. The wood, craftsmanship, TV mounted, sound, etc is not cheap.

Was an awesome arcade cabinet for my modded OG Xbox though.

No. I don't see the appeal in making the PS5 even harder to fit in the average setup, lol.
I'll go out on a limb and guess that most people don't want this.

OP you're kinda shooting this in the foot when it comes to appealing to people that would actually want an arcade cabinet by offering no way to hook up non-PS5 hardware

a Vewlix style HD arcade cabinet at this price could be pretty appealing to that crowd but not if you're stuck using it to play PS5 games and only PS5 games

this is very strange

Honestly. I'd rather just build my own slimline cabinet and stick a series X in there since it can at least run Mame

I'd rather have a series S with a 1080p 120hz screen. That makes more sense and is less overkill for such a small screen

An even bigger PS5?

Only if it was one with an integrated racing seat, so it would look like some kind of future utopia rejuvenation pod

I know the first thing I think of when I look at my PS5 is "man, i wish this fucking thing could take up even more space!"

...but I could just connect my PS5 to the arcade cabinet I already have?

I remember wishing I had a arcade cabinet... there's no way I'd have a arcade cabinet of any kind, even if it was a mega computer with Nvidia _TX 5099 Super Titan in it. If I had it I would just break it down and put it in a comfortable form factor box to connect to my monitor or TV.

Maybe I'd have a cable coming from or to it and the only tech in the cabinet would be arcade sticks and a monitor. Arcade style games that are ok for short bursts would be on the cabinet at all times, while the PC would be doing PC things like browser, video, and games.
