The eyes look different. Less intense and more tired but somehow less weathered. It's a great looking model but it does lose a bit of the feel of the original.

New Joel looks like a high-profile actor playing Joel in a movie, with that stylish rugged appearance. Original Joel looked like an everyday guy.

What is it you see that makes him look like a different person? I see the exact same Joel, just a decade older.
Can someone Photoshop new Joel's hair onto old Joel and do a side by side?? That may help me
Yeah...the problem is that when you see him in the trailer you can actually tell it's Joel and not "Hey, who's that guy? he looks familiar, I wonder who is it..." You could make the same argument for Marcus in Gears 4 vs gears of war 3 and it wouldn't make any more sense than your argument here.

There's nothing wrong with his face.
He just looks different because they made a higher quality model to take advantage of the hardware.

Naughty Dog targetted realism way too hard at the expense of the characters, Joel mainly. Everyone else looks pretty much ace.
lol, I really don't think we're seeing the same things her OP. Joel in TLOU2 looks like an older Joel and looks better in every way.

Nose is obviously different. Eyes look much less stressed.
If you had told me that the one of the right was Joel as an older man I'd believe you.
