Assuming there is no text,, could you make a visual difference between the different resolutions. People sometimes get really frustrated when a game does not support 4k, but if I claim I run a game in 4k, can you say if I am truly running it at 4 k or not?
Update: Let us say for example youare two meters away from the screen witha 24'' screen.

Yes, just as easy as telling the difference between 30 and 60fps.

Compare a X enhanced 360 game to a non-enhanced one, the difference is night and day.

Next to each other they are very easy to see.

It's when you show someone a random monitor that they may trip up.

Never actually seen 4k or 8k, but I can tell the difference between 720 and 1080, so presumably yes?

How big is the monitor and how far away is it from the viewer? If you made the room big enough and the monitor small enough it wouldn't be possible but under normal circumstances the difference should be pretty clear

You'd have to be being intentionally dismissive or have very poor eyesight to not see the difference side by side.

You can argue the ultimate value of higher resolutions all day but it'll visually be very obvious side by side.

Depends solely on screen size, distance from the screen, and individual vision. Anyone with working vision can tell the difference between all sizes when close enough to each screen.

In the same room side by side? Pretty sure it would be easy to tell just on a relative basis.

Now if you shuffled me from room to room with the displays in a random order, maybe it would be trickier at the high end, but I'm still reasonably confident.

never gamed in 8k, but I can definitely notice the difference between the other 3.

Yeah, as long as the screens are big enough (it'd be probably hard to tell the difference if all of them were displayed on something of the size of a smartphone, for instance).

I don't know if I've even seen 8k before. I assume the difference between 1080p and 4k is far more obvious than 4k and 8k is... kinda like 720p to 1080p isn't entirely "generational."

I could tell it was 8k because it was running at 7 FPS.

If you're in a room with all of them at the same time, it's obviously easy to put them in order. If you are presented with one randomly and you have to know what it is, I'd probably struggle.

Depends on the size of the display. On a 5" screen you're not going to see a difference between 4K and 8K. You're probably not going to see much difference between 1080P and 4K either. As the screen gets bigger, the resolution differences become more apparent.

Unless you have a severe visual impairment and don't have your glasses on, everyone will be able to see the difference.

Yes.
I can also tell the difference between 30hz, 60hz, 80hz, 100hz, 120hz, 144hz, 165hz+ realtime.

Not sure about being able to see the difference between 8K and 4K, but I can definitely see the differences between 4K and the lower resolutions.

This question makes little sense without specifying screen size and distance from the viewer.

Yes.
The higher the resolution the marginal the difference and the less impact it has but I can definitely tell when something is running at 4K vs. 1080 vs. 720.

I've never seen 4k or 8k.
I cannot tell the difference between 720p and 1080p.

I might be able to see the difference between 720p and 8k maybe? But that's it.

If it's trully native 720p, 1080p and 4k compared, then yeah pretty easily.

Can't say about 8k since I never saw it. But with intermediate res such as 1800p, I don't think I would be able to tell them appart if not side to side.

I mean, anyone can make a difference if they try hard enough.

As far as telling the difference, that will vary.
