I need book recommendations for horror and science fiction.

No problem. I love to read more books like this as well, but they seem rare unfortunately. There is Alastair Reynolds' short story The Nightingale, but I need more.
As other have said, Stephen King is always good. Salem's Lot and Pet Sematary particularly. Are you into any specific kind of horror? Monster/ghosts/slasher/psychological/mystery/thriller, etc.?

Heart Shaped Box by Joe Hill is the best horror novel I've ever read. Absolutely left me shaking at parts.

I'm currently reading book two and was thinking just that :p They have been good, but so very drawn out.
My favorite pure sci-fi book series is easily the "bobiverse" series. The excellent pacing and short chapter structure jumping among the many personalities made it incredibly hard to put down.
Sadly, I have not yet had the opportunity to do this. Don't know if I ever will.
