So, my 2017 budget TCL is starting to show signs of wear and tear. It's served me well for a little over four years, but I'm looking at a budget replacement. (This is for my bedroom, not the main household set.)

The trouble I'm running into here is that the 2021 55S405 model has worse reviews than my current television. Is this because, in 2017, the 49S405 was a better bang for the buck? Or is it somehow a genuinely superior TV? I have tried numerous comparison sites, but the ol' 2017 piece isn't listed on any of them.

TV Era, help pls.

I think the only difference is the size so I don't think there will be a difference

The 3 Best Budget TVs - Spring 2024: Reviews

The best budget TV we've tested is the Hisense U6/U6K, which delivers surprisingly decent performance for the price. It looks amazing in a dark room thanks to its excellent contrast ratio.

Thanks for the help thus far, y'all.

I'm not doing an OLED, lol. I know how great they are. We have one in the living room. This is going to be a cheaper gig.
