I have a 2017 TCL 49S405 TV. If I were to purchase a 2021 TCL 55S405, would I notice an appreciable difference?

So, my 2017 budget TCL is starting to show signs of wear and tear. It's served me well for a little over four years, but I'm looking at a budget replacement. (This is for my bedroom, not the main household set.)

The trouble I'm running into here is that the 2021 55S405 model has worse reviews than my current television. Is this because, in 2017, the 49S405 was a better bang for the buck? Or is it somehow a genuinely superior TV? I have tried numerous comparison sites, but the ol' 2017 piece isn't listed on any of them.

I'm admittedly being pretty cheap about this since it won't get a ton of use - like $450 max, haha.

If you could budget about 600, you can get a much better TV. Like that 150 can make such a difference

I think the only difference is the size so I don't think there will be a difference

Personally I would try to get last year's TCL 55 inch model. Or at least one that supports Dolby Vision.
