Did OP think that peoples sexual desire magically goes away with age... why is it any more surprising that a 70-80 year old would be looking at porn compared to a 20-30 year old?

I know I shouldn't, but after fixing toolbars, unnecessary applications and removing adware and/or viruses, I search the browser-history.

Your study of men is limited to human beings who have installed lots of adware, viruses and unnecessary toolbars. It biases the conclusions of the study.

Yes several people, when I worked at Walmart, handed their phone to me so I could do or look something up for them. Porn history galore after typing in a few letters.

People need incognito mode.

People need to quit being weird about porn.

If you look at porn yourself, then you see that someone else looks at porn, and your reaction is that they need to hide that because it's shameful in some way, spend some time examining that critically.

Ask yourself if it actually makes any sense to have that attitude about porn, or if it's the influence of a hypocritical society that shames people over their sexuality for no reason.

Things need to change.

If youre there fixing their stuff and looking through their browser history you might as well teach them the sacred arts of porn fu and show them the incognito mode.
Or at least tell them not to install everything they can find.

What a fancy way of admitting that you're a creep who snoops into other people's business beyond the scope of what you were hired to do. Do your job and go home.

Sex feels good and what psychologically fuels it can vary from person to person, such that one person's likes can be another's dislikes. As long as they are not doing anything to anyone who did not or could not give consent, it's really none of our fucking business.

Couldn't agree more there. We all watch porn, get over it and don't kink-shame. As long as things are consensual, it ain't my business to judge.

OP ypu are the walking cliche of the IT guy who goes through our computer when we need a fix. Worse, you tell people about it.

I see 0 problem with people watching (legal) porn. Everyone has a kink, how awesome that we have the internet to see it and get some indulge, instead of pushing it down like most of the generations before us? How can we judge if eachothers kinks are weird?

Of course all that taking things like beastiality and pedophiles out of the conversation, thats illegal.

So only men like porn then?
The horror stories I could tell.

I once made a house call to a lady in her late 40s. Her PC was stuck on the background. Ive seen this all the time... I get there and her background is a huge BBC that filled the screen from corner to corner. She said "That didn't used to be there" lol.

Touching other people's keyboard and mouse (and sometimes game pads) is almost always distressing.

Please regularly clean these things, people.

Eh, I've found out much worse working on computers.

We have this old guy that comes by our office sometimes and wants me to look at his laptop.

Last one he brought me I pulled the HDD out and ran recovery software on it. Ended up finding a couples entire honeymoon on there. There were some interesting shots in there, but that wasn't the best part of this story. I also found their work resumes. Sooo, I did a search for the wife's name on Facebook. I only got one hit, and it was her.

I then messaged her to see if she had sold the laptop. She told me "no", that the laptop had been stolen in Atlanta Georgia after they got back from Cancun. She asked if there was any way to get back the laptop, or at least all their honeymoon pictures. I told her that would be no problem at all. She also gave me a police case number for all the stuff they had stolen.

I followed that up with a call to the APD in Georgia. They asked me if I had any other items, an iPhone, a backpack, a calculator, and a few other things. Turns out this was her "college" backpack with all her stuff. I didn't have any of those things, as the laptop was all the old guy had brought in.

So, the old guy had told me that he got the Laptop at Goodwill. I didn't believe this at all up front, and it's what motivated me to try and contact the owners. This was a solid $2k laptop. Anyway, the APD told me they wanted to talk to the guy that brought it to me. A couple days later he comes back for his laptop and I tell him "hey, this laptop has security features that made the APD contact me (<--lol)". He gets all flustered and walks out for a bit.

When he comes back in he asks if he can use my phone, I"m like.."sure". I hand him my office phone and he calls the APD right there in my office. I sit there and listen to him as he explains to them that he "...was in Atlanta for a vacation and decided to go out in the evening. He then picked up a "young lady" and took her back to his hotel room. She had asked him to take a look at her laptop, but he wasn't sure what to do, and so he brought it to me."

I was sitting there trying not to laugh. Turns out he picked up a prostitute, did his business with her, then she offered him a laptop. He bought the stolen laptop from her for $200.

He ended up having to go to Atlanta and give a statement after that. Not sure what else he had to deal with. I did as I promised and copied everything to a USB stick for the couple that wanted all their stuff back.

Sounds like pretty ordinary stuff for adults OP? I work with children and there's not a weekend that goes by where we don't have to clear the browser history on our LAN setup. Last weekend there was even boy that put a desktop picture of a girl getting double penetration. The conversation you have with their parents after those kind of things happen are the very opposite of comfortable, to put it mildly.

Damn, a lot of people in here bashing the OP. How else are you supposed to discover new genres of porn?

I mean, everyone watches porn, you really don't need to go into the browser history to know that.

I see you have taken matters into your own hand and initiating manual override. I just pet the cat usually and when I get hungry, make the waffles.

But how can you afford this behaviour? Multiple visits to the safety deposit box? I guess you like to give yourself a hand and do it yourself.

Since I've lost interest, I will go watch a fight. I hear they're boxing the one-eyed champ today.

No way. Don't lump me in with you lot.
you're a freak, Cilla!

To clarify some misunderstandings.
Should I do it? No, I perfectly know it. Will I do it again: Probably yes.

From my perspective it could be much worse I always think of the guy that jacked off into a coworkers cup of coffee for a couple of years and I'm happy I'm not him.

wait wait wait wait wait wait wait wait wait

wait

Always glad to see my IT education pay off. Why pay some greasy fucking snake money to root around in your private affairs when you can do it yourself.

IT guys look at your history and look at your phone pictures

it is known

obviously they shouldnt but if it wasnt OP it would be his coworkers

I don't look but sometimes it's right in my face.

There was a guy at work that I thought of as one of the most tech-savvy employees this company has ever had. What that basically amounted to is that he thought he knew how to hide shit from me. One thing he had installed was an application that I guess let him read his phone texts on his PC - I let it slide because he had a work phone and presumably clients would be sending him stuff. One day I sit down to fix something, alt tab and BAM giant vagina pic in my face (he tied his personal stuff to that application too apparently). I quickly hid it before anyone noticed and hinted to him to deal with it before he got in shit.

When I worked at a college as a cleaner, there was an open access lab that was available until something like 3AM. A few years later I ended up working in that same college's IT department, and one of my coworkers mentioned the 'spank lab'. I told him no need to tell me which one you're talking about because I already know.

Co-worker who is a single mother of a boy who was maybe 8 at the time brought me their laptop because of pop-ups. She blamed it on the games he was playing.
After some investigating the kid was only playing Roblox, After some more investigating I found the problem was he was also surfing bad sites. I knew it was him because of the words he used to search such as "boob", "neked but", and "privates".

I finally got enough sense to understand that porn is like the absolute worst thing I can do as a single guy, at least for me personally. Absolutely kills my motivation to get out and meet women. I've stopped completely. Wish I would have well before 36.

I am often asked to help people with their computer.
Basic stuff. But difficult for older people.

I know I shouldn't, but after fixing toolbars, unnecessary applications and removing adware and/or viruses, I search the browserhistory for porn.

The first time I cleaned a PC I wondered how all of this adware and toolbar stuff found a way onto the laptop of a 70 years old man. I checked the history for clues and I saw the truth for the first time.

Until now it was never a miss. Every time. I started to sanitize my hands after using another man's mouse or keyboard.

Just wanted to share because it happened again today. Anyone else on the "I have a nephew who could fix this" help line for old people with a need for porn?

Once I opened Firefox and the pre-opened tabs were about knitting, buying birdseed, identifying birds, buy/sell gold and gangbangs.

The most fucked up was someone into beastiality. Really weird talking to them afterwards. There should be a mandatory auto-delete of the browserhistory.

And yes I know it's morally very wrong.
You're a fucking cunt. Go fuck yourself.
