No, Your best option is to endure the random duos through matchmaking, playing solo puts you against other duos. And also the community is currently toxic AF when matchmaking, if you ain't prestiged they will quit.
But strangely enough its one of the best games available in early access if you can find a partner.
Join the official discord and you'll find a partner. Also had no problems teaming up with randomes even though I have not prestiged.Considering picking this up. How have people been enjoying this? Fun playing solo?
the game is thankfully getting some more love from the community recently :))
Such a shame crytek couldn't have waited until the first big performance patch before releasing into early access. They lost so much steam with the initial negative reactions to the poor framerate.
Took a lot of convincing (and an outright gift of the game in one case) to get interested friends to give it a shot recently.
It's improved so much since that initial look, hope more people give it a chance.
I expect a big marketing push once its out of EA. I've been wanting to play this game since it was initially revealed in 2014 or whenever.Such a shame crytek couldn't have waited until the first big performance patch before releasing into early access. Picked this up over the weekend.
Ton of fun and such a beautiful game as well, everything feels heavy and well animated, really surprised at how awssome it is.
I have been mainly skulking about the sides solo getting a feel for the game and just getting a few clues for cash and some kills for xp, not fought a boss yet.
Hope the player numbers keep up and look forward to seeing how this progresses.
Steam reviews are positive now and they are patching the game every 2-3 weeks. The next one is about to drop any day now. There are a tons of good stuff coming according to the roadmap.
I believe its planned, but I am pretty sure they want to be out of early access first. It seems like Crytek is doing a good job supporting this. I'm upgrading my PC this week and hoping that it will run Hunt sufficiently. I'm also wondering if theyll do a console version.
Out of curiosity, what are you upgrading to?It seems like Crytek is doing a good job supporting this. I'm upgrading my PC this week and hoping that it will run Hunt sufficiently. I'm also wondering if theyll do a console version.
It's fun, but it's quite a bit harder on your own. There currently isn't a solo only queue, so you'll be up against some mix of other duos and other solo players. No chance at being revived, no partner to provide a distraction when you move to flank, etc. Getting that first quick kill on a duo to even the odds becomes incredibly important. But it's doable, just requires a bit of a different mindset.
The number is how many seconds of darksight boost you have left. When boosted and using darksight, your hands will glow orange, and other players within a 150m radius (about the size of a compound) will glow orange, similar to a wallhack. The fidelity of their glow depends on them moving around. If they are standing still it's pretty spot on, but as you move the glow stretches and becomes a rougher approximation of where they are. It's intended to give bounty carriers a better chance at escaping a boss room / compound when other teams are camping outside, and to encourage boss killing in general. The timer ticks down as you use the boost. In the case of maps with two bosses, picking up a second bounty will reset your darksight boost back to 10 seconds.Played a few games this morning, I dig it.
Love the minimal HUD and atmosphere. I feel like I kinda understand the flow of the game more now. Even managed to win a match with a stranger!
Question: after destroying the Spider and collecting the bounty, a number with a red/orange outline appeared in the bottom left of the screen. What does that number indicate?

Early on before the boost was implemented there was a problem where the meta was to not kill the boss, and instead camp outside the boss compound waiting for someone else to kill it so you could get an easy steal by camping boss room exits. You'd get lots of stalemate games where few people if any were willing to actually move in. The boost, combined with cash bonuses for engaging and killing the boss yourself, has dramatically reduced this and made games more lively. It still happens sometimes, but not nearly with the same frequency. All in all, a good change.
Yeah, no way of knowing how many people are left aside from keeping track of your own kills, kills you've heard / witnessed, and watching for the messages when players extract with bounties. Max of 10 players, including yourself, for reference.Great, thanks!
Now that I think about it, I don't think in any of the games I played I encountered other teams. Is it the case where if my teammate and myself were the only two people who spawned on a map, we'd have no way of knowing?
If so, that's kinda cool. I appreciate the way the game is stingy with information.
Same. It's great and the latest update has made the game so much better in nearly every aspect. The menu music in this game is perfect. Extremely simple, incredibly catchy, and suits the vibe of the game so well
It's been in my head constantly for the past couple days
Anyone playing this? I want to play more but I can't find people to play with, and I need to be shown the ropes.
Yes it's hit or miss. I get 100~ FPS on a 1080ti/8700k but know people that get far less on similar rigs.4.0 is out. Quickplay is really fun but the game still runs like hot garbage. Too bad this game doesnt get the attention it deserves. They constantly putting out updates and content. 3rd boss to arrive next month too. They need to shift focus to the optimization tho.

Dx12 and Vulcan are being worked on as well.
Thanks for posting this. I haven't played in a few months. Time to jump back in.4.0 is out. Quickplay is really fun but the game still runs like hot garbage. They'll be obliged to, IMO, because they're releasing an Xbox One version and they can't really afford to screw up. Performance has been improving with each update, but the most recent update has caused some severe regressions in some cases. The roadmap is worth reading, IMO. Stuff like controller support seems like pretty important prelim for the console version.I wish the optimization was good tho. Hopefully they are going ham next year
And sold. I had a ton of fun with this when I played half a year ago. I imagine there have been some good updates since then. This is currently having a free weekend on Steam, and a 20% off sale. The game's in a really good place at the moment, highly recommend it.

Just as a warning, you can only play in duos, and it's probably closer to DayZ than L4D in how it plays. Although it's not really like either. Now that I have a decent PC and two friends who play this, I'm jumping in on this free weekend! Looks very atmospheric, and I haven't had a good multiplayer game since Left 4 Dead 2- Dayz, Rust, BR games aren't my jam.
