Hey Chefs! Today, we're really excited to tell you that Overcooked! All You Can Eat will be a launch title for PlayStation 5! To get you hungry for the culinary delights to come, we want to share a delicious helping of info on the awesome DualSense wireless controller features that we are implementing. PS5 players will not only experience Overcooked in beautiful 4K at 60FPS with all new Trophies to earn, but also enjoy loads of cool new DualSense features.

Lightbar
When playing Overcooked! All You Can Eat cooperatively with friends, your light bar will match the colour indicator of the chef you are playing. So, player one is red, player two is blue and so on. When playing versus, the lightbar will indicate the colour of your team.

Touchpad
The touchpad will be used to quick select emotes from the emote wheel. So whether you're communicating effectively with your fellow chefs, or cursing them, your option will be just a swipe away!

Speaker
The in-built controller speaker offers up an awesome opportunity to further amplify the chaos of the kitchen. The beeping of a burning recipe, the dreaded alert for a failed order and the round timer will all play using the controller speaker as well as the in-game audio. Double the panic!

Haptic feedback
The haptic feedback system in the DualSense wireless controller offers a whole new level of immersion to Overcooked. Imagine not only being able to see and hear as your food burns but feel it. The horror!

Cooking and Environmental Indicators
The haptic feedback will not only tell players when something is happening, but also where. Players will be able to tell which side of the kitchen the action is happening by feeling for which side of the controller the vibrations occur. It may be all calm on one side of the kitchen but if a pan is on fire on the other side, your DualSense wireless controller will tell you (it's okay, we know it wasn't your fault).

The vibration will also match the in-game audio, giving you indicators for:

  • Cooking Warning
  • Fire Ignition
  • Food Ready
  • Recipe Time Out
  • Level Timer Countdown
  • Successful Delivery
  • Wrong Order
  • Catch
  • Rat Smack! (Yes, the rats are back!)

I like the idea of this remaster, for the first game especially, but wish there was an upgrade path for owners of the first two games. Paid one even.

So is this both of the original games and extra content?

My sister and I really enjoyed playing the first game, but never tried the sequel. Sounds like some neat ways to enhance the experience of freaking out over making and delivering food to customers who may or may not be world-ending villains :D

So happy to see so many third parties embracing the controller. I have a real feeling the DualSense is going to be the most "next-gen" feeling feature

Yes I agree, I have bought the double pack for my daughter for Xmas and we will play on her ps4 or my ps5 but it would be great if I could pay an upgrade fee for the enhancements. Such a fun game but I don't like having two physical copies around.

Shit like this makes me want to try the game now, if devs embrace the Dualsense it could be THE killer feature on the PS5.

I think the best measure of dev adoption thus far seems to be that devs seem to be having fun developing features for the dualsense.

Fingers crossed that Sony can succeed where Nintendo failed and devs actually use these features outside of the launch window. Little stuff like this adds so much to a game's presentation.

This is one of the best implementations yet if it works as well as said.

It could help players play better.

Third parties utilising the unique feature set of the DualSense this early in the generation bodes well

Hyped for this. Hopefully if this sells well there'll be another sequel making this a trilogy

I would pay for an upgrade path but won't buy it for full price again. I mean I own both games on several platforms already 🥺

question: apparently there is crossplay between Ps5 and Series S/X, but is there also crossplay between Ps5 and Ps4?

God damn PS5 is gonna be a game changer if devs keep using the dual sense. I love HD rumble on switch but it's sorely underused.

Yep this is why I'm excited about the haptics, having the controller give you situational awareness is going to be great in so many games.

Awesome to see indies use the functionality too, but woo is that an expensive way to play Overcooked haha.
