And I'm talking across all platforms, multiple games, etc.

Do you know how much you've spent on DLC in total, or a rough estimate?

I've dropped a couple hundred into a few individual games. I'm not exactly an opponent of dlc done well, or unwell i guess in the case of my overwatch box history :|

Uh...

Some Xenoverse 2 stuff, all the characters and stages for Smash 3DS/Wii U/Ultimate, and some costumes in Persona 5 and Tales Of Berseria. Proto Man in Mega Man 9 and Bass in Mega Man 10.

I think that's it.

Is that "barely any" or "a fair amount?" Outside of Smash I don't buy much DLC I guess.

From memory:

Dark Souls: Artorias of the Abyss

Bloodborne: The Old Hunters

The Smash Ultimate DLC fighters and the Mii costumes for Sans and Goemon.

The DLC for the first NieR where you play as Brother Nier in challenge maps.

Probably less than $100. I just never find it worth it unless it was multiplayer maps in games I loved (Halo 3).

maybe 100-200? All but ~10 of that on expansions like iceborne, witcher dlc, etc, stretching back since dlc first became a thing.

Probably around $120 mostly spent on bigger DLCs like the Breath of the Wild, Witcher 3, and Xenoblade 2 season passes.

I reckon less than £100, off the top of my head:

A few rocket league DLCs
Freedom Cry (AC Black Flag)
Bioshock Infinite Clash In The Cloud
Xcom 2 War Of The Chosen (tbh, I'm not sure this should even count as DLC it's more of an old school expansion)

I have over 2,000 pieces of DLCs on Steam alone.

Probably have as much on PS3/PS4.

I buy in bulk (Season Passes, complete editions, etc when at least 50% off).

Maybe $1,000 in total over the years, including Gold edition content? I'm not sure exactly, although there is at least ~$300 in Rock Band songs in there.

The Steam number is a little frightening but I know it's inflated with free DLC and stuff included in bundles that didn't cost much (or anything).

Expansions, sure, DLC, nothing really. But then there's stuff like Season Passes and Deluxe Editions.

Thankfully Amiibos don't count.

Off the top of my head:
  • Borderlands 2 season pass ($30)
  • Bloodborne DLC ($20)
  • Nioh season pass ($25)
  • Mario Kart 8 DLC ($12)
  • Smash 4 character DLC (except Lucas & Corrin) ($6 ea)
  • BotW expansion pass ($20)
  • Xenoblade 2 expansion pass ($30)
  • Splatoon 2 Octo Expansion ($20)
  • Smash Ultimate fighter's pass ($25)
  • Fire Emblem: Three Houses expansion pass ($25)
So somewhere around $240, probably a bit more because I'm sure I forgot some stuff.

I'm guessing about £300 since first getting my PS3....all on expansion type dlc's....not a penny on mtx.
Is that a fair amount or a lot.....no idea.

I try to get GOTY versions that have all the DLC included

Got Fallout 4 Season Pass, Assassins Creed Odyssey Season Pass and Dishonored, all at sales prices

I didn't know I was suppose to keep track? A lot I wager since I don't really have a problem with DLC as a concept, only execution.

Uh...a lot. Firmly in the Too Much category. 700 Rock Band songs (and guitar hero DLC) alone put me over any "normal" amount of spending.

This generation? Almost none. I'm loving the whole free content after launch approach. Cosmetic MTX be damned.

Probably a few hundred quid but I try to wait for sales and only then scoop up a bunch. I recently bought the Forza 6 complete add-ons pack for £4 and it dumped about 110 downloads into my queue.

Halo 2 map packs, and most halo maps up through Halo 4
Fallout 3 DLCs
Battlfield BC2 maps through BF1 premium
MK8
1 Season of R6: Seige

Thats about most of the DLC I can think of. Alot of the BF stuff was on sale too.

I've never bothered with DLC all that much, so it likely totals up to less than the price of a full game. And 80% of that would be Smash.

Maybe around $120ish in the last two generations. I mostly play SP games and typically only buy additional dlc if it has additional story content I'm interested in.

Witcher 3 Expansion Pass 24.99
Mario Kart 8 Expansion Pass 11.99
Civ 6 Expansions. Third party key site deals so i don´t know how much actually, let´s just say 40.

I cannot think of buying anthing else.

Not a ton but if I really dig the game I'll get the DLC, it also depends on the genre. I'm more inclined to get DLC for a fighting game than I am for a story-based game.

I've never really added the cost up but I have like 700 rock band DLC songs across all the games.

Some came in packs, but some were definitely $3 a song.

So I'm pretty sure I spent at least $1k on DLC for that one series. No regrets, it was a blast.

Mine is certainly yikes-tastic. Honestly I dont even want to know, but since I know how much i spend on PSN yearly, I can safely say it's multiple thousands

EDIT: less than $50 in microtransactions and $0 in lootboxes, for clarification

Unless I'm forgetting something, I think I have only spent money on TW3 DLC, Bloodborne and Horizon Zero Dawn.

Maybe one or two others, but never cosmetic DLC and loot boxes

What counts as DLC? Do boxed PC game expansion count as DLC? Like Diablo 2: LoD and Starcraft Brood Wars? What about the WoW expansions? I bought some of those boxed, some of them digital. But if those DON'T count, then why would stuff like the Witcher 3 Expansion Pass? I don't know where to draw the line. The fact that it's downloadable seems kind of like a circumstance, not really the defining factor. And if it's literally all add-on content for games... A lot.

Even just looking at the C&C series, that's C&C Covert Ops, Red Alert Aftermath and Counterstrike, Tiberian Sun Firestorm, Red Alert 2 Yuri's Revenge, Generals: Zero Hour. It's ever single expansion Blizzard has ever put out for any of their games, including all the WoW expansions.

I'd probably ball park it between $1000 and $1500?

Aside from Nintendo titles, Witcher 3, and some warframe Plat I don't spend after the initial purchase. I ain't about that life.
