Let's say the PS5 DE costs $399 and is identical to the standard PS5 aside from its omission of a disc drive. For just $100 more, you're getting the following:

- Truly next-gen GPU performance (10.3 TF as opposed to 4)
- A much faster SSD that's ~300 GB larger
- Access to Sony's revered first-party output
- A genuinely innovative controller
